Role overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced People Strategist to join our CarOffer team. This position will play a pivotal role in shaping our organizational culture, driving employee engagement, development and implementing strategic People & Talent initiatives to support our business objectives.
Reporting to the CarGurus' Director, People Strategist (Go To Market), you will partner with CarGurus People & Talent Centers of Excellence to co-create the P&T practices, policies and processes to enable the CarOffer business. This role will provide onsite guidance, coaching and alignment amongst the existing CarOffer P&T team members, while also being a trusted partner to the CarOffer Leadership team.
This position will require a comfortability with ambiguity, excellent communication skills and confidence to make informed decisions in our fast-paced environment. This high-impact role is critical in our efforts to foster a high-performing and highly-engaged workforce.
What you'll do
- Cultivate a best-in-class employee experience by fostering and operationalizing a culture of excellence within the CarOffer People & Talent team, ensuring we are a team employees are excited to partner with.
- Strategic HR Planning: Collaborate across peer groups and with CarGurus Centers of Excellence to co-create People & Talent policies and processes
- Develop and implement P&T strategies aligned with the company's overall objectives. Collaborate with senior management to identify talent priorities and initiatives that support business growth and sustainability.
- Talent Acquisition and Management: Oversee the recruitment and selection process to attract top talent. Develop innovative strategies for sourcing, assessing, and onboarding new employees. Implement performance management systems to foster employee development and retention.
- Employee Relations: Serve as a trusted advisor to employees and management on all HR-related matters. Manage employee relations issues, including conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and grievance procedures. Promote a positive work environment built on trust, respect, and open communication.
- Compensation and Benefits: In conjunction with CarGurus, develop and administer competitive compensation and benefits programs to attract and retain high-performing employees. Conduct regular market analyses to ensure our total rewards package remains competitive and aligned with industry standards.
- Training and Development: Design and implement training and development programs to enhance employee skills and competencies. Identify training needs, deliver learning initiatives, and measure the effectiveness of training interventions.
- HR Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant employment laws and regulations. Stay abreast of changes in legislation and industry best practices to mitigate legal risks and maintain a fair and equitable workplace.
- People Metrics and Analytics: Utilize metrics and analytics to track key performance indicators and measure the effectiveness of People programs and initiatives. Use data-driven insights to inform decision-making and drive continuous improvement.
What you'll bring
- 5-8 years of experience working across a wide range of Human Resources functions (experience as an HRBP is a bonus) with an ability to translate business needs into talent solutions that drive engagement and performance
- Proven experience in a fast-paced, high-growth technology company and/or start-up environment
- Experience working with high performing, driven commissions sales teams
- Experience managing employees/prospects in various stages of the immigration process (H1-B and green card)
- Demonstrated foundation of US employment law and experience applying it effectively as a trusted HR advisor
- Comfort navigating ambiguity and adapting to frequent change with excellent problem-solving skills and decision-making ability
- Entrepreneurial spirit, and a track record of taking initiative with excellent project management, negotiation and mediation skills
- Ability to work with a very high level of confidentiality and discretion
- An effective communicator and natural relationship-builder who can collaborate with and influence a variety of work styles and personalities
