Role overview
As a Performance Marketing Manager - Email & Notifications at CarGurus, you will spearhead the strategy and execution for our email, push and SMS notifications channels across markets. You will be responsible for evolving and expanding all notification campaigns to drive conversions across product lines while delivering an outstanding consumer experience. In this role, you will collaborate closely with Product Marketing, Product, Engineering and Creative teams to oversee every aspect of the notification program, including strategy formulation, campaign creation and management, reporting and analytics, all aimed at maximizing ROI.
What you'll do
- Own development and execution of strategy to deliver world class notification program (email, SMS, push)
- Evaluate notification campaigns (frequency, triggers, content, results, etc,) and continually improve all elements to optimize and expand CarGurus’ notification channels for conversions, cross-sell and retention.
- Work cross-functionally to package compelling data & information, and editorial content, to deepen CarGurus’ relationship with consumers and support email goals.
- Drive measurable growth in repeat traffic to the site, and significantly increase volume of leads and transactions from consumers who have already visited our site.
- Develop and evolve reporting dashboards and ad-hoc analysis to monitor and enable optimization of email critical metrics
- Create strong partnerships with the Product Marketing, Product, Engineering and B2B teams to ensure consumer work leverages and supports efforts across the company.
- Understand existing MarTech stack capabilities, and, if appropriate, recommend and drive through adoption of new platforms.
What you'll bring
- 5+ years of experience building email, retention or similar marketing programs
- Expertise in email marketing and customer engagement best practices; SMS and push notification marketing experience a plus
- Familiarity with MarTech stack for customer relationship management
- Data-oriented thinker with excellent strategic, problem-solving, and critical thinking capabilities
- Customer-first mentality – always looking for creative and innovative ways to make the experience better, easier, and more exciting for consumers
- Strong test-and-learn mentality to get ideas to market quickly and iteratively build on those that show promise
- Strong project management skills, focused on action and ability to push forward many moving parts at once
- Strength in ability to influence without authority across stakeholder teams
- Great teammate that excels in collaborative situations and is comfortable working closely with/through engineering
- Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills -Self-motivated, well-organized and detail-oriented - looking to jump in and drive impact immediately
