We protect land that supports the things we can’t live without — like clean water, climate protection, and healthy communities — and safeguard the places that make life worth living, like parks for recreation and plant and animal habitat.
Over the past 50 years, we’ve helped more than 2.4 million acres through land acquisition, funding, and research and advocacy. We’re also increasing access to the great outdoors through our support of grassroots efforts and park enhancement projects.
Job Description
About the Open Space Institute
The Open Space Institute is a national leader in land conservation and efforts to make parks and other protected land more welcoming for all. Since 1974, OSI has partnered in the protection of more than 2.5 million at-risk and environmentally sensitive acres in the eastern U.S. OSI’s land protection promotes clean air and water, improves access to recreation, provides wildlife habitat, strengthens communities, and combats the devastating impacts of extreme weather.
Position Overview
The Senior Project Manager, Business Applications & Solutions is an opportunity to have a meaningful impact within a mission-driven organization at an important point in the evolution of its technology systems. OSI is investing in technology to help our staff work more efficiently, collaborate more effectively across teams and locations, and ultimately better support our conservation mission.
The Analyst will work closely with the Vice President of Technology & Digital Strategy and colleagues across OSI to understand business needs, design practical solutions, and see those solutions through implementation and adoption. The role will have meaningful ownership of projects involving SharePoint and Microsoft 365, workflow automation, business applications, and emerging technologies including AI.
We are looking for a hands-on builder who can move from an idea to a working solution. This is a role for someone who enjoys understanding how an organization works and then making it work better - improving processes, configuring and building solutions, and helping staff use new tools effectively.
The Senior Project Manager will not be expected to do this alone. The role is part of a well-resourced IT function that includes senior technology leadership, dedicated internal IT support, and external technology and cybersecurity partners. This allows the Analyst to focus on business applications and solutions while drawing on additional expertise for infrastructure, cybersecurity, and more complex technical needs.
This position offers significant visibility, ownership, and opportunity for impact. The successful candidate will be able to see the results of their work across the organization and help shape the systems and practices that will support OSI’s continued growth and conservation work.

Shared Programmatic Commitments
