Nixtla is seeking a Machine Learning Engineer to improve our products. As an ML Engineer, you will work closely with the CTO to work on the architecture design for our ML products and services. You will work on setting good standards on critical design questions around dataset management, experiment tracking, and distributed training infrastructure. You will also develop and review model and application code and deploy state-of-the-art machine learning systems for time series. You should have a strong background in software engineering and machine learning. We work on research problems on a production timeline. You will succeed in this role if you enjoy setting up scalable training systems and infrastructure from scratch and shipping real-world products.

  • Experience setting up ML ops workflows and infrastructure from scratch in a startup environment (ideally in Modal or Terraform on AWS and Azure).
  • Production programming experience on a data-intensive project in distributed infrastructure.
  • Experience writing high-performance, parallelized code.
  • Very accustomed to agile software engineering processes, git flow, etc.

The Role

Key Responsibilities:

•    Design and deliver an Android application for collecting and evaluating sensor data

•    Collaborate with a diverse team of Engineers and Data Scientists to craft an experience that will fuel our understanding of driving behaviors

•    Participate in code reviews and knowledge sharing 

•    Work with Data Science, the iOS application team, and Engineering to document Arity’s Analytic Mobile Architecture framework

•    Supporting a culture of software craftsmanship best practices including Test Automation and Continuous Integration

Education and Experience:

• 4 year Bachelors Degree (Preferred)

• 3 or more years of experience (Preferred)

• In lieu of the above education requirements, an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Qualifications

•  5+ years of software development experience building Android applications with Java / Kotlin

•    Excellent communication skills

•    Experience influencing, planning, designing and scoping software projects

•    Experience with git or other distributed version control system and a understand the software development life cycle

•    Experience working from business requirements

Preferred Qualifications

•    Experience performance tuning Android applications

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Lead Android Software engineer to join our Publisher’s team. You will engage with developers outside of the local sprint team across various disciplines including Android, iOS, APIs, and web. You will own and lead delivery of major components and platform needs in partnership with senior engineers and architects.

Key Responsibilities:

Your day-to-day looks like:

• Design and develop advanced applications for Android platform

• Mentor junior to mid-level members of the team

• Remain an active learner in all technologies related to mobile development (Kotlin, Swift, 3rd party libraries, etc.)

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define API contracts, design and ship new features.

Required Qualifications:

• High level of proficiency in Kotlin with an understanding of code optimization and application performance

Not only do we know how to analyze and find meaning within billions of miles of driving data collected from smartphones, onboard devices and third parties, but we are passionate about how it affects the end-users of our products. On our team, people get the opportunity to build scalable distributed data pipelines to efficiently extract innovative insights from raw GPS and contextual data, enhance applications from enriched geospatial layers on a large scale, and create eye-opening data visualization. By leveraging our state-of-the-art algorithms, cost-effective platform, and easily accessible micro-services, we can quickly turn geospatial data into actionable insights. This team is also fully integrated within a cross-functional scrum team including product owners, software engineers, and other talents to collaborate with for creating innovative products.

The Role:

As a geospatial expert at Arity, you will be considered as the technical expert for geospatial data. You are expected to make key technical decisions about how to approach complex geospatial projects. You have chances to influence the business for the entire cycle of geospatial data including collection, processing, aggregation, modeling, and visualization. You will personally lead the solution development for these projects and work with product owners, data/software engineers, and other partners for productionization and client delivery. Some example projects include:

  • Efficiently route match raw GPS data
  • Extract geographically relevant mobility patterns from users
  • Derive driving contextual information based on driving environment
  • Build nation-wide risk map
  • Geospatial modeling of traffic data

These geospatial insights help us understand transportation and the risk of behaviors on the road. You will also help shape and grow our culture we have worked hard to establish – promoting recognition of good work, continuous learning, winning together, and having fun along the way.

Responsibilities:

Your day-to-day looks like:

  • Working with large geospatial data sets using distributed computing frameworks
  • Building spatial and machine learning models using a variety of languages and tool sets
  • Working cross-functionally to identify business opportunities for geospatial data science, exploring new data sources for enrichment, collecting appropriate labels for learning, establishing actionable metrics, and creating reusable model validations and risk mitigation
  • Communicating results to key stakeholders in a clear and compelling manner
  • Applying appropriate methodologies for the problem and validating the solution with the appropriate metrics

Job Qualifications

  • Extensive knowledge about geospatial data sources both in public and private domain such as US census data, weather data, parcel data, POI, etc
  • Ability to process, analyze, and visualize large amounts of geospatial data using Spark, Python, SQL, etc.
  • Demonstrated capability to build spatial models and techniques such as kriging, spatial linear mixed models, geographically weighted regression, Markov random field, spatio-temporal models, graph theory models for transportation network
  • Advanced knowledge in predictive models using geospatial data such as crash/fatality prediction, traffic flow model, risk map
  • Proficiency in data visualization and analysis including use of open source or commercial geospatial tools such as Kepler.gl, ArcGIS, QGIS, and PostGIS
  • Ability to translate product requirement into well-defined analytical problems
  • Master’s or PhD degree in a geospatial related field such as geospatial science, statistics, civil engineering, computer science, or related discipline
  • Over 10 years' experience with geospatial data in large scale and familiarity with common maps such as HERE, OSM, Tomtom and OpenLR

Preferred

  • Experience working with transportation agencies like DOT and domain knowledge in transportation safety

    Experience with building maps from traffic data

The Role

We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Data Analytics Engineer to join our Analytics Data Engineering team inside of Data Science. You’ll help us continue to build out an analytics data ecosystem that organizes our data for research, merges disparate sources together, and ensures data privacy best practices. You will work with a team of data engineers dedicated to creating the best telematics data and insights platform in the market.

You will help us build the next generation of deep mobility insights by extracting relevant behavioral and geospatial patterns from users’ trip data. Your team will help us find new sources of telematics data and figure out how to ingest, normalize, and process it at a scale of over 500 trips per second with full system observability.

Responsibilities

  • Build pipelines that source data from operational systems and then process and organize it to optimize for R&D efforts across Arity
  • Apply appropriate methodologies for the problem using a variety of tool sets and writing code in Scala or Python.

Externship Overview

The MarketAxess Future Leaders in Action (FLIA) Externship is a one-day virtual event taking place on March 6th, 2024.  Our Externship Day will provide insight into what it’s like to work at a fast-paced global fintech (financial technology) firm from MarketAxess employees firsthand. The Role

We are seeking to augment the US Customer Integration (CI) group with a Lead Customer Integration Engineer who would bring a strategic approach to our day-to-day decision making and processes as well as understanding and directly deploying the day-to-day tasks at all levels of complexity. The primary responsibility of the CI group is to work with broker-dealers and institutional clients to help them integrate their systems to the MarketAxess Fixed Income trading system and market data products via Application Programming Interfaces (API).
