Netflix Experience Design Discovery + Foundations Team

Role Description

This role is on the Experience Design (XD) Discovery + Foundations team. The team is responsible for designing the core member experience worldwide and creating personalized entertainment experiences that help members discover and connect with the content they love. When it comes to Discovery, the team prioritizes personalized content discovery, leverages human-centered AI, and ensures each member’s experience on Netflix reflects what they truly value based on their tastes and preferences.

The Foundations aspect focuses on defining the app architecture, critical member journeys, scalable platform patterns, and strategic framework and guidelines that help scale the product for a variety of use cases and content types. Our focus is on product excellence and platform innovation for TV, Mobile, and Web experiences.

About You

This role focuses on innovating at the heart of the Netflix product ecosystem across the member journey and helping to define experiences as our service expands to offer more types of content from Shows and Movies to Live and Games.

What You'll Do

  • Identify and define platform experiences and features and create elegantly simple solutions to complex problems. 
  • Drive a human-centered design process for defining and executing features from concept to launch.
  • Clearly communicate design rationale and iterations to partners and stakeholders.
  • Articulate a vision and contribute to strategic decisions around the future direction of what it means to design personalized member experiences from onboarding to browse, search, playback and beyond in an expanding ecosystem of content types.
  • Collaborate with a cross-functional team spanning consumer research, data science, product management, merchandising and engineering to test, iterate and launch features that advance our mission to connect members with the best Series, Films, Live and Games.
