We are seeking a Director of Data Science, Deep Learning to lead our deep learning team within the AdTech space, specifically within the Vendor Data team, to shape the future of AI-driven ads and deals at Delivery Hero. In this pivotal role, you will jointly architect state-of-the-art deep learning models, influence AI strategy, and develop cutting-edge methodologies to significantly enhance the success of thousands of vendors - restaurants, shops, and local businesses - across our platform.

As a senior leader within the Vendor Team, you will be instrumental in building and optimising our AdTech products by leveraging advanced deep learning techniques. These AI models will play a pivotal role in our AdTech ecosystem, helping vendors to maximise visibility, enhance their conversion rate, and drive substantial revenue growth.

Operating in nearly 70 countries, our AdTech infrastructure connects millions of businesses with their ideal customers daily. With AdTech projected to generate over €1 billion in revenue in 2024/25, your leadership in deep learning-driven data will be critical in shaping our profitability strategy and advancing our market position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deep Learning Mastery: Exceptional expertise in designing and implementing advanced deep learning architectures, particularly transformers and other sequence-based attention-driven AI models, generative ranking approaches, and long-term interest networks for sophisticated user personalisation in AdTech.
  • Rigorous Model Evaluation and Business Impact: Proficient in establishing comprehensive evaluation frameworks for deep learning models, encompassing both internal model-centric metrics (such as NCE, ROCAUC, PRAUC) and the meticulous measurement of business metrics during live A/B testing and experimentation.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership and Alignment: Demonstrated ability to collaborate and align effectively across diverse functions, including engineering, commercial, and product teams, to drive shared goals and ensure the successful, impactful success of deep learning initiatives.
  • Scalable MLOps and Data Engineering: Proven leadership in developing and maintaining highly scalable and robust data and feature pipelines, ensuring the efficient training, deployment, monitoring, and ongoing performance of deep learning models in high-throughput production environments.
  • Technical Vision and Continuous Innovation: Knowledge at the forefront of deep learning and machine learning engineering (MLE) trends and approaches, actively driving the team to adopt cutting-edge methodologies. Possesses the expertise to collaborate with senior team members in defining the technical roadmap and leveraging advanced data processing tools like MonteCarlo and dbt to achieve ambitious team objectives.

Qualifications

  • Extensive Leadership Experience: At least eight years of professional experience leading and scaling high-performing data science and deep learning teams, with a proven track record of applying advanced AI modelling methods in domains such as AdTech, digital marketplaces, or computational economics.
  • Advanced Academic Background: A master's degree or higher in a quantitative field such as mathematics, physics, computer science, or a related discipline.
  • Deep Technical Proficiency: Strong technical foundation as a previous individual contributor, expert in Python and SQL, with hands-on mastery of deep learning frameworks including Keras, TensorFlow or PyTorch, alongside data manipulation libraries such as Pandas, PySpark, and NumPy.
  • Cloud-Scale Data Expertise: Demonstrated expertise in managing, modelling, and deploying deep learning solutions with high-volume, real-time data within cloud environments.
  • Strategic Communication: Exceptional ability to communicate complex deep learning concepts and their business implications clearly and concisely to both technical teams and senior leadership.

What We're Looking For

  • Valid Australian driver's licence.
  • Entry-level candidates with opportunities for career progression.

  • Familiarity with diagnostic tools, maintenance scheduling, or service coordination.
  • Previous exposure to WHS systems, compliance environments, or regulated industries.

Physical Requirements

  • Able to lift/move up to 25kg safely, using accurate manual handling techniques and tools.
  • Able to comfortably step up onto a safety step and work in variable physical environments.
  • Comfortable standing for extended periods and aiming for most of the workday.
  • Capable of bending, squatting, and working at ground level when necessary.
  • Capable of raising arms overhead and performing tasks at shoulder level when necessary.

I. MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and complete test plans and test scripts for new and existing game themes and operating systems.

  • Submit and supervise any product issues found during testing to ensure that they are resolved.

In our Logistics Team, you’ll tackle high-impact challenges that make last-mile delivery efficient, affordable, and sustainable. Your work will directly improve experiences for riders, end customers, and merchants across the globe. Each enhancement you contribute will help Delivery Hero optimize delivery operations, supporting expansion into new areas like grocery and retail.

  • Experience: 6+ years of experience as a Product Analyst, Data Scientist, or similar role, preferably within fast-paced tech environments or marketplaces.

The Game Operations Director leads all live operations across two games: Big Fish Casino (BFC) and Jackpot Magic Slots (JMS). In this role, you will set the strategy, lead all aspects of execution, and drive performance across game events, monetization, content lifecycle programming, and player communications. This role partners across functions and teams to deliver a unified live-ops plan that delights our players.

You will lead the GameOps team of 8 members (5 direct reports), strengthen operational excellence, and deliver meaningful revenue and retention impact across both games. This is a senior leadership position with direct influence on business performance and long-term player value.

What You’ll Do

Strategic Leadership

  • Define and communicate the long-term GameOps strategy for BFC and JMS in alignment with product strategic pillars and commercial goals.

  • Set annual and quarterly objectives for GameOps and ensure they support revenue, direct to consumer (DTC) share, and player satisfaction.

  • Lead the content lifecycle plan, ensuring both apps have fresh, relevant programming across the calendar year.

  • Balance short-term performance with long-term player experience and economy health.

Live Operations Ownership

  • Oversee all live-ops programs including events, missions, offers, sales, segmentation, and content pacing.

  • Ensure cohesive programming across both apps and across all player segments including DTC cohorts.

  • Drive innovation in GameOps through new event types, improved segmentation, and modern engagement loops.

Performance and Experimentation

  • Own daily, weekly, and monthly performance across key KPIs including revenue, retention, and DTC share.

  • Partner with Analytics and Economy leaders to tune events, identify risks, and scale successful programs.

  • Oversee AB testing within GameOps and ensure tests are structured, data-driven, and aligned to material business outcomes.

Team Leadership and Cross Functional Influence

  • Lead and develop a high-performing team of GameOps Managers.

  • Champion collaboration between GameOps, Product, Production, Creative, Engineering, Marketing, and Slot Strategy.

  • Establish clear expectations for planning, delivery quality, documentation, and continuous improvement across the team.

Operational Excellence

  • Ensure reliable and high-quality delivery.

  • Drive improvements in tools, workflows, documentation standards, and automation opportunities.

  • Build a culture of consistent test, learn, and iterate using insights from structured analysis.

What We’re Looking For

  • 8 to 10 years experience in Live Operations, Product Management, or related fields in social casino, RMG, or free-to-play games.

  • Proven ability to deliver live-ops performance at scale in top grossing or highly complex games.

  • Deep understanding of monetization levers, content pacing, segmentation, and economy impacts.

  • Strong analytical capability with experience using indicators to guide decisions and performance improvements.
