Joining a Startup with Purpose: Why the Founder’s Mentality Matters

At Tech Ladies, we love partnering with mission-driven companies like Possible Finance—where values truly guide actions and every new hire plays a key role in building the company from the ground up. In this post, we dive into the Founder’s Mentality. For anyone navigating the job search, especially in the startup world, there’s a powerful takeaway here: the most impactful roles often come with ambiguity, challenge, and opportunity. Companies like Possible Finance aren’t just hiring someone to do a job, they’re looking for people ready to help shape what comes next. If you're someone who wants to do meaningful work, grow through challenges, and help build something that lasts, this post is for you.

Joining a Startup with Purpose: Why the Founder’s Mentality Matters

At Possible Finance, we look for, celebrate, and promote those who share in our Founders' Mentality.

Our Mission of "bringing financial fairness to the underserved communities of the globe" is difficult work. As founder's, we (Tyler, Prasad, and Tony) intuitively knew this as we started pitching and building out the solution to bring this mission to life. As we've achieved success and grown the company, we have hired people who share and embody the same founders' mentality, values, and vision we did when we founded Possible.

Our journey has brought many joys. Seeing customers gain access to cash and being able to improve their financial situation when others would not help them is what we live for. The feedback we've received from so many people underscores we are on the right path. Yet, there have been many challenges that we needed to overcome to get to where we are today, and we envision additional, unforeseen challenges as we continue to grow and bring our mission to life.

Knowing, as a company, we face many additional challenges, we seek to hire others who share this vision and share the same ideal, that even today, they are also a founder of Possible. The work the people we hire today will be the foundation for the people we bring along tomorrow. The people we seek understand joining a mission-driven start-up is more than just a job. They realize there is an inherent risk, and that the job they take is also about building the foundations for their team members to come.

Our employees understand that sharing in the founding of Possible is not about taking a job and fulfilling the duties within; it's about the challenge of creating something bigger than yourself, it's about the opportunity to build the foundations of a successful corporation who serves millions of people across the globe.

A founder is willing to put others before themselves and to take on challenges bigger than themselves. A founder personifies and embodies the values we share through the work they do. Here at Possible, we share these values:

  1. Trust - We empower our employees and customers through trust
  2. Empathy - We approach the situation with understanding rather than judgment
  3. Grit - We press on through difficult situations even when resources are limited or when the odds seem slim
  4. Authentic - We celebrate diversity and those who bring their true selves
  5. Adaptable - We understand that growth requires change
  6. People First - We understand our customers and team members are our most important assets

We gravitate towards people who share the same Founder's mentality. Join us.
