What drives us?
Each year, more than 55 million Americans experience a civil legal issue impacting their basic needs. Three in five people – and 92% of those living on low incomes – are unable to afford or access the legal help they need. We believe no one should face losing their safety, family, home, or livelihood because justice is out of reach. From helping domestic violence survivors obtain protection to enabling low-wage workers to combat wage theft, we make the law work for the many, not the few.

Scale Justice does not provide legal advice or referrals, but LawHelp.org contains links to statewide legal information websites in all 50 states and US territories. Each state website contains free legal self-help resources and information about how to find nonprofit legal aid organizations in your area. If you are looking for immigration legal assistance, immigrationlawhelp.org is a searchable directory of free or low-cost immigration legal services providers around the country.
