Position Summary:

The Anesthesia Quality Institute (AQI) was established by the American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) in 2008 to facilitate practice-based quality management through education and quality data feedback. The AQI is a Patient Safety Organization (PSO) and home to NACOR, the largest anesthesia registry in the world. NACOR is also a Qualified Registry (QR) and Qualified Clinical Data Registry (QCDR).

The Registry Systems Analyst is responsible for supporting, maintaining, and enhancing the organization’s registry platforms and related data systems. This role ensures data accuracy, system usability, and effective reporting by collaborating with registry participants, anesthesia billing vendors, EHR providers, and the AQI registry product team. The analyst provides day-to-day tier 2 support to participants, assists with onboarding new registry users, troubleshoots issues, performs data analysis, and assists with system upgrades, enhancements, and integrations.

Primary Position Responsibilities:

·        Monitor data integrity, completeness, accuracy, and consistency across the data warehouse, ensure program and regulatory compliance.

·        Develop and maintain automated data validation routines that flag anomalies and trigger remediation.

·        Maintain and implement XML ingestion pipelines from third party sources into the data warehouse.

·        Onboard new registry participants. Coordinate with administrative and technical resources of the practice and their billing provider to enable accurate, complete, and timely data submission to the registry.

·        Analyze registry data to identify trends, errors, and opportunities for process improvement.

·       Coordinate with IT teams and external vendors on system updates, testing, and enhancements.

·        Serve as a first escalation point of contact (Tier 2) for registry system inquiries, issue resolution, and end user support.

·        Liaise with external data feed providers to resolve schema changes, transmission errors, data integration errors, or data quality concerns.

·        Enforce HIPAA compliant handling of all PHI/PII within the data warehouse. Coordinate with Security and Compliance for periodic compliance reviews and incident response.

·        Document and maintain system configurations, data dictionaries, system integration workflows, and change-control procedures.

·        Develop and run routine and ad hoc reports for internal and external stakeholders.

·        Assist with onboarding, training, and ongoing support for internal staff and external program participants.

·       Support data quality initiatives and system governance processes.

·       Participate in workflow design, requirements gathering, unit and integration testing, and system implementation projects.

·       Maintain data security standards and ensure compliance with organizational policies.

·       Ability to perform work in alignment with ASA core values: Dedication, Collaboration, Commitment to Excellence, Continuous Improvement.

Position Qualifications:

·       Bachelors degree in a related field (e.g., information systems, data analytics, or data science) preferred.

·       Minimum 3 years of experience in data warehousing, ETL, data analysis, or registry/program operations.

·       Proficiency in Microsoft Fabric, PySpark, notebooks, Python, SQL, and XML processing.

·       Familiarity with API integrations or ETL processes.

·       Prior experience working in healthcare registries, certification/credentialing systems, or membership databases preferred. CRM and/or AMS platform experience is a plus.

·       Knowledge of data privacy regulations (e.g., HIPAA, Patient Safety Act of 2005 PSQIA, and Patient Safety Rule) is a plus.

·       Familiarity with Microsoft Azure services, Microsoft Azure Data Storage Containers, and SFTP user management is a plus.

·       Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail, and the capacity to translate clinical questions into data solutions.

·       Ability to manage multiple priorities and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

·       Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

ASA Compensation Philosophy:

ASA conducts market analysis of its positions, ensuring the compensation is comparable with jobs of the same level, skills, and abilities. Additionally, ASA believes in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as part of any final offer. ASA strives to be transparent with our pay practices both internally and externally.

Position Compensation:

This position is an exempt/salaried position. The target hiring pay range for this position is: $75,000 to $90,000 annually. This position is not eligible for a yearly bonus/incentive.

Compensation decisions consider a wide range of factors, including but not limited to relevant experience, skills, certifications, business needs, and organizational policies.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in an office environment with light noise. Work may be frequently interrupted.
