Job Description
You will join us as our new Senior data scientist within a highly experienced and talented data science team. You will be given the autonomy to lead on projects and will gain experience from working with a large and diverse set of data. This role sits within our product focussed games data science team.
What will your role involve?
- Translates ambiguous business problems into measurable analytical components.
- Implements methodologies to generate, collect and measure data for business use.
- Uses a big data environment for analysis and works with engineers in the collection and curation of game data.
- Works with unstructured/semi structured data to extract useful analytic measures.
- Performs statistical analysis on experimental or business data to validate and quantify trends or patterns.
- Defines best practices for analysis and visualization.
- Collaborates with key business leaders to understand business problems and leverage analytic tools and processes for problem solving.
- Writes advanced SQL for exploratory analysis.
- Translates computational solutions/statistical models to implementable code.
- Constructs recommendations and strategic/tactical plans based on business data and market knowledge.
- Leads or collaborates with a team of data scientists, business intelligence analysts or big data engineers on analytical projects.
- Capable of both fast paced business requirement and long term deep-dive analysis and finding the proper balance between the two.
- Mentors junior data scientists.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor/Master/PhD degree in a relevant technical field, or equivalent experience in a relevant role.
- Extensive experience solving analytical problems using quantitative and qualitative approaches.
- Experience of A/B Testing
- Worked with large data sets, moving computation towards data layer.
- Used machine learning and modeling.
- Experience using visualization techniques to record and communicate findings.

You will join us as our new Senior Data Scientists within our games team. You will be a business facing mastermind who help turn business questions into actionable insights. You will research and analyze player behaviour, and come up with recommendations. You'll do this by listening to stakeholders, understanding context and challenging business ideas. By using diverse techniques - frequentist and Bayesian statistics, machine learning, exploratory and explanatory data analysis, causal inference, data visualization, monte carlo modelling, econometric analysis, etc. Such broad requirements call for the ability to learn quickly, work productively with peers and communicate data clearly and effectively.
What will your role involve?
Discuss with stakeholders requirements for analysis
Run exploratory data analysis and turn it into questions which can be answered with analytical techniques
Use analytics, statistical or causal inference, machine learning or any other techniques to answer questions and tackle problems
Develop proof-of-concept machine learning models that can be tested and passed to MLOps team for production
Develop simulators of player behaviour with the goal to improve design of features within the games
Proactively identify areas of improvement, run analysis, simulations or modelling to shape recommendations
What We're Looking For
A degree or equivalent work experience in data driven field
Experience of using visualization techniques for presenting data and analysis
Experience of using any of the following to answer business or scientific questions - statistics, mathematics, econometrics, causal techniques, monte carlo modelling, etc.
Experience of building machine learning models is nice to have
Experience of using at least one programming language (R/Python/etc.)
Knowledge or experience of using SQL
