You'll be joining a newly formed Automation and AI team dedicated to revolutionizing how we develop, operate, and maintain our live games. Our mission is to build pipelines, tools, and AI-driven solutions that automate repetitive tasks, reduce operational overhead, and unlock new creative possibilities within Product Madness. This team has a startup mindset within a well-established gaming powerhouse, giving you the best of both worlds: the agility to innovate and the resources to make a real impact. We are embarking on a strategic roadmap involving the creation of an AI Knowledge Graph, implementation of Model-Based Testing, and leveraging AI for smarter QA practices.

As one of the foundational QA Engineers on the Automation and AI team, you will be instrumental in shaping and ensuring the quality of our innovative solutions from the ground up. You will be responsible for validating the end-to-end automation pipelines, the AI Knowledge Graph, AI-driven tools, Model-Based Testing implementations, and their integration with our Unity-based gaming platforms and backend systems. Your work involves defining QA strategies for novel systems, testing complex integrations including telemetry and AI feedback loops, and contributing directly to the team's goals of enabling data-driven, risk-based, and eventually predictive QA approaches. You will collaborate closely with developers, designers, and data scientists to embed quality throughout the lifecycle of tools and workflows leveraging the latest AI trends.

Key Responsibilities

--------------------

AI Knowledge Graph (KB) Quality Assurance:

  • Develop and execute test strategies for the AI Knowledge Graph, validating its structure, data ingestion (content aggregation, telemetry), accuracy of linkages (features, test cases, bugs, configs), and functionality (e.g., semantic search).
  • Test the integration points and feedback loops between the KB and AI tools (KB feeding test strategies/patterns to AI, AI generating insights/test cases back to KB).
  • Ensure the reliability and performance of the KB as it expands.

Model-Based Testing (MBT) Implementation & Validation:

  • Actively participate in the implementation of MBT methodologies.
  • Collaborate on MBT model design, ensuring accuracy and coverage of the systems under test.
  • Validate the correctness and effectiveness of automatically generated test cases derived from MBT models.
  • Test the integration of MBT execution and reporting within the CI/CD pipeline.

AI-Driven Automation & Tooling Validation:

  • Design and execute test plans for custom automation tools, AI features (including aspects of explainable AI), backend services, and Unity editor extensions developed by the team.
  • Validate telemetry integration, ensuring accurate collection of usage analytics and error logs for AI-driven testing insights.
  • Contribute to defining strategies for monitoring and testing AI model drift over time.

Test Automation Development & Maintenance:

  • Design, implement, and maintain robust automated test scripts and frameworks (potentially using C# for Unity, Python/Java/etc. for backend/APIs) to validate the team's deliverables, including KB components and MBT outputs.
  • Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins) for continuous quality feedback and reporting.

QA Strategy, Execution & Defect Management:

  • Define overall testing scope, approaches (manual, automated, performance, risk-based), and plans aligned with the project roadmap phases (KB building, Pilot Automation, MBT implementation, Expansion).
  • Execute diverse tests, meticulously document defects, verify fixes, and perform regression testing.
  • Contribute QA perspective to defining guidelines on data usage, model transparency, and compliance.

Collaboration & Continuous Improvement:

  • Partner effectively with developers and data scientists to understand technical implementations, AI models, reproduce issues, and ensure timely defect resolution.
  • Communicate test results, quality status, risks (especially related to AI/automation), and coverage gaps clearly.
  • Actively contribute to evolving QA processes towards risk-based testing, AI-driven test prioritization, and potentially bug prediction, leveraging insights from the KB and telemetry.
  • Participate in defining AI governance practices from a quality assurance standpoint.

What We're Looking For

Must-Have:

  • Proven QA Experience: 3-5+ years of professional experience in software quality assurance, with a strong emphasis on testing complex systems, integrations, and data pipelines.
  • Test Automation Proficiency: Demonstrable experience designing, developing, and maintaining automated test frameworks and scripts (e.g., using C#, Python, Java, or similar).
  • Technical Aptitude: Solid understanding of SDLC, QA methodologies, API testing (RESTful), database concepts (SQL/NoSQL), and CI/CD practices (Git, Jenkins, Docker).
  • Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills: Excellent ability to analyze complex requirements, identify risks/edge cases, troubleshoot issues, and think critically about testing novel systems.
  • Adaptability & Learning Mindset: Eagerness to learn and apply new concepts, particularly in AI/ML testing, Knowledge Graphs, and advanced automation techniques.
  • Excellent Communication & Teamwork: Ability to collaborate effectively in an agile, cross-functional team and communicate technical concepts clearly.

Nice to have:

  • Experience testing AI/ML-driven systems, understanding concepts like model validation, bias detection, or explainability testing.
  • Experience with Model-Based Testing (MBT) tools or methodologies.
  • Experience testing within the Unity engine environment or testing game development tools.
  • Familiarity with Knowledge Management systems, graph databases (like Neo4j), or testing semantic search functionality.
  • Experience validating telemetry/analytics data pipelines.
  • Experience implementing or utilizing risk-based testing strategies.
  • Experience working in the gaming industry.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
