Job Description
The Role
Aristocrat Interactive are looking for a creative and detail-oriented Sound Designer with experience in online gaming, gambling products, and marketing materials. The successful candidate will bring outstanding expertise in sound design for interactive experiences, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, optimised sound assets.
Responsibilities:
- Sound Design for All Product Streams:
Create, implement, and manage high-quality sound effects and audio assets for online gaming products, marketing materials, and game trailers. Ensure the audio enhances gameplay, storytelling, and marketing objectives.
- Deliver on Creative Vision:
Collaborate with Producers, Developers, and AD’s to interpret and execute the desired audio vision, ensuring the final sound assets align with the overall artistic and gameplay direction.
- Optimization of Sound Files:
Ensure all sound files are optimised for performance, reducing load times and memory usage without compromising sound quality. Leverage techniques such as compression, efficient file formats, and middleware solutions to achieve this balance.
- Adherence to Departmental Processes:
Follow established production pipelines and processes, ensuring that all audio assets are well-documented, correctly integrated, and adhere to project guidelines. Work within Aristocrat Interactives audio structure and contribute to improving workflows.
- Industry Awareness & Competitor Research:
Maintain a strong understanding of current industry trends and competitor products in online gaming and interactive audio. Stay up-to-date on new sound technologies and techniques that can enhance our products.
- Meet Deadlines & Milestones:
Work efficiently within the constraints of production schedules, ensuring that all audio deliverables are completed on time and to the highest standard. Demonstrate excellent time management and organisational skills across multiple projects.
- Collaborate with Key Stakeholders:
Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including Producers, Creative Leads, and Marketing teams. Engage in regular communication to ensure alignment and transparency throughout the project lifecycle.
- Implement & Respond to Feedback:
Take feedback from internal teams and stakeholders constructively, making revisions and adjustments where necessary to refine and improve the audio design.
- Transparency of Progress:
Provide clear and timely updates to stakeholders on the progress of sound design work. Ensure that all team members have visibility into key milestones and completion rates, addressing potential issues early.
- Sound Integration:
Integrate sound assets into game engines using proprietary in-house software and optimise for performance. Work with developers to script sound behaviour within the game.

- Creative & Technical Skills:
Ability to combine creativity with technical precision, producing engaging audio that enhances the user experience while adhering to platform limitations and performance standards.
- Communication & Collaboration:
Strong interpersonal skills, able to communicate clearly with developers, designers, producers, and marketing teams. Capable of articulating ideas and gathering input from a variety of stakeholders.
- Problem Solving & Initiative:
Proactively identify potential audio-related issues, troubleshooting effectively and providing timely solutions that minimise project impact.
- Industry Knowledge:
Strong understanding of online gaming, gambling industry products, and marketing trends. A keen sense of what works in competitive sound design and awareness of what competitors are producing.
