About The Role

As a Product Designer at Sibros, you’ll bridge the gap between product management and frontend engineering, playing a key role in defining and improving the user experience of our products and web portal. You’ll focus on delivering simple, intuitive, and elegant design solutions for complex engineering problems while collaborating cross-functionally to accelerate our product roadmap.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead the product design and UI/UX design of our customer-facing web portal
  • Create wireframes, prototypes, high-fidelity UI designs, and user flows using Figma
  • Collaborate closely with product managers to define user needs and translate them into intuitive design solutions.
  • Partner with software engineers to ensure seamless implementation of designs and maintain design consistency across products.
  • Conduct user research and testing to validate design decisions and continuously refine the user experience.
  • Develop and maintain a cohesive design system to support scalability and consistency across the platform.
  • Advocate for a customer-first approach, ensuring usability and accessibility standards are met in all designs.

What You Should Know

  • Degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field.
  • 4+ years of experience in product and/or UI/UX design, with a strong portfolio showcasing web application design.
  • Expertise in Figma, with experience creating wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs.
  • Strong understanding of UX principles, interaction design, and information architecture.
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, including product managers and software engineers.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience designing for IoT, automotive, or data-centric products that solve complex engineering problems
  • Knowledge of accessibility standards and best practices in web design

Who We Are

Magpie Literacy is an early stage, funded edtech nonprofit on a mission to eradicate illiteracy in America. Our team is composed of former educators, literacy curriculum experts, and product developers who believe it is possible to teach every child to read, and to do so at scale via research-based instruction, personalization, and technology. We center students in all decisions.

We're building an integrated, comprehensive, tech-enabled pre-kindergarten through 8th grade reading product that students love and that rapidly moves them to foundational literacy and reading fluency.

Magpie is seeking a Product Designer Consultant to support our team on a 6-month contract. In this role, you'll help shape and refine the user experience across our learning and assessment products. This includes blending user research, design strategy, and UI/UX execution in close collaboration with our Engineering, Product, and Academics teams.

You'll contribute to creating a cohesive design system, deepen our understanding of user needs, and support product refinement efforts with clear, thoughtful design solutions.

Scope of Services & Deliverables

Strategy & Planning

  • Support our Product leaders in creating an experience flow; scope and size the work
  • Identify and analyze how we approach product refinements; provide consistent updates based on observations

UX Research & Planning

  • Conduct background research and auditing. Identify and analyze existing experience within both Learning and Assessment products
  • Define user research needs; create timelines and calendars used by the team
  • Compile and analyze existing internal and external research

Design Development

  • Create and uphold a design system, its components and ensure documentation is in place to guide future design and engineering work

User Research

  • Conduct 1:1 teacher interviews; potential opportunities to visit schools and observe in-classroom experiences
  • Facilitate/participate in EAC (Educator Advisory Council) meetings
  • Identify areas for user research and create research plans, scripts, clickable prototypes, and additional testing materials as needed

Collaboration, Coordination & Handoff

  • Provide Engineering Team partners throughout the build process; offer clear and comprehensive design specifications to enhance outcomes
  • Offer guidance to key stakeholders and help trouble shoot issues as needed
  • Create detailed review of build work to ensure design accuracy and usability
  • Illustration coordination: Proactively coordinate with, and take the lead on, engaging with Magpie's illustration contractors 
  • Partner with our Product Leaders in helping source and hire illustration contractors
  • Stakeholder coordination: Coordinate copy and design decisions cross functionally between Academics, instructional design, Operations, and Engineering

Script Writing

  • Draft script updates; review and coordinate changes and iterations in partnership with instructional design stakeholders

Audio production

  • Create audio files using AI tools
  • Manage audio production + QA process

Requirements

  • Strong experience with UI/UX design tools (especially Figma) 
  • Deep understanding of learning-centered product design and user research 
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams (Engineering, Academics, Product) 
  • Strong communication and documentation skills

Role overview

As the Director of Procurement, reporting to the VP, Finance and Principal Accounting Officer, you will establish and strategically build CarGurus’ procurement function from its current foundational state, shaping policies, systems, and processes designed to optimize efficiency, enhance cost-effectiveness, and support the company's long-term strategic objectives. Product Designers at Headspace get to craft innovative, human-centered features for the Headspace app, Headspace.com, the Headspace Hub for enterprise clients, and our internal care provider tool, the Care Hub. They use human insights to generate ideas and bring them to life with UX, UI, prototyping and motion design skills. As a designer at Headspace, you will collaborate with a talented and dedicated team of product designers, researchers, brand designers, product managers, and engineers to create delightful user experiences that help Headspace members around the world learn and feel better.

What you will do:

  • Design delightful and user-friendly screens, flows, and prototypes.
  • Interview users and user test lo-fi screens and prototypes, using findings to iterate on your designs.
  • Work with UX writers on copy, and brand designers to add illustrations and motion design to your work.

Pay & Benefits:

The anticipated new hire base salary range for this full-time position is $100,800-$161,000 + equity + benefits.

Within this range, individual compensation is determined by a candidate’s location as well as a range of factors including but not limited to: unique relevant experience, job-related skills, and education or training.
