We’re building the AI-powered future of maintenance.

UpKeep is on a mission to reinvent how the physical world runs—starting with the frontline teams who maintain it. We’re the creators of the world’s first AI-first CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System), equipping technicians and facilities teams with automation, machine learning, and predictive insights that drive operational speed, safety, and efficiency.

Why Join Us

  • Own the AI-first transformation of an entire industry. Every feature we ship leverages AI—from predictive work orders to sensor-driven automations. You’re not just iterating—you’re pioneering how data reshapes physical operations.
  • Real traction, real scale. Recognized as Gartner’s #1 Facility Management solution and G2’s top-rated CMMS, we’ve earned market leadership through product, not puff.

  • Global team, local energy. With 100+ employees across the world, we support remote-first work with deep investment in our LA HQ—where certain roles and leadership converge for rapid innovation.
  • Equity and upside, not just a paycheck. Competitive comp, meaningful ownership, and benefits that support your health, focus, and long-term growth.

Position Summary

At UpKeep, we believe AI can redefine how work gets done in the field—by anticipating problems, automating tasks, and delivering real-time insights that keep teams moving. As a Product Manager, you'll shape intelligent tools that help frontline workers stay one step ahead—without extra steps.

This isn’t just about building features. It’s about creating intelligent, in-the-flow experiences that feel invisible, powerful, and essential.

Why does this role matter? Field technicians are often underserved by traditional software. You’ll help bring them intuitive, AI-powered tools that actually reduce their mental load—tools that feel one step ahead and work when they do.

Essential Functions And Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the product roadmap across platforms, aligned with our AI-first vision and product strategy
  • Prioritize features and bugs in collaboration with engineering and design, balancing user impact and feasibility
  • Lead smaller feature efforts end-to-end: define requirements, manage timelines, and drive execution
  • Partner with AI/ML teams to integrate intelligent features into core workflows
  • Work closely with users, research, and customer success to surface needs and validate solutions
  • Support sprint planning, project timelines, and release coordination
  • Ensure experience consistency across platforms (web, mobile, integrations)

Experience

  • 4+ years of experience in SaaS and/or mobile product management
  • Experience working with software development teams using Agile methodologies
  • Experience contributing to both web and mobile product initiatives
  • Bonus: experience with AI/ML features or products
  • Bonus: experience in field service, maintenance, or operations tools

KNOWLEDGE

  • Ability to analyze raw data to extract insights and support product decisions
  • Can make thoughtful tradeoffs with limited information
  • Strong communication skills and ability to present ideas clearly
  • Detail-oriented while keeping the broader user experience in mind
  • Self-motivated and eager to grow in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication

DESIRED BEHAVIORS

  • Receptive to change – is flexible and embraces improvements to processes
  • Initiates action – takes responsibility, meets commitments, and works toward results
  • Manages the workload – prioritizes tasks effectively and solves problems proactively
  • Technically proficient – understands and applies relevant technical knowledge to the role
  • Takes responsibility for own learning – open to feedback and seeks opportunities to improve
  • Communicates ideas – listens to others, shares ideas clearly, and builds on team input
  • Works collaboratively – supports team efforts and contributes to a positive work environment
  • Displays ethical character and competence – acts with integrity and aligns with company values
  • Acts as a good citizen of UpKeep

Compensation

The base pay for this role is $110,000 - $120,000 USD per year.

Company History & Product

UpKeep started in a garage, where our founder Ryan taught himself to code and built the first mobile-first maintenance app. The idea was simple but powerful: put modern software in the hands of frontline technicians—and transform how maintenance gets done.

Today, UpKeep is the leading cloud-native Asset Operations Management platform, serving over 4,000 businesses worldwide across manufacturing, utilities, healthcare, and beyond. Our Industrial IoT and AI-first software helps maintenance and facilities teams streamline work, predict failures, and act faster—with real-time insights and automation at their fingertips.

We’re building for the deskless workforce—the essential workers who keep our physical world running—and arming them with the tools they deserve. In a world re-shoring manufacturing, accelerating automation, and embracing AI at scale, we’re riding the next macro wave—and leading the transformation of legacy maintenance into intelligent operations.

Backed by $50 million from Insight Partners, Emergence Capital, Mucker, and Y Combinator, we're not just building software. We're defining a new category for the built world.

Role Overview

This Senior Product Designer will work on a variety of client projects—each with its own product maturity, user base, and technical landscape. Some projects may involve refining an existing product’s UX/UI; others may involve designing new functionality from the ground up or helping launch a new product entirely.

This role is ideal for a proactive, high-ownership designer who blends strong design craftsmanship with analytical thinking. The right candidate brings a driver mentality—someone who doesn’t wait to be told what to do, but instead takes initiative, seeks clarity, and pushes for excellence across every aspect of the user experience. You thrive in ambiguity, juggle multiple priorities with confidence, and help drive clarity across teams and projects.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design of intuitive, inclusive, and elegant user experiences across diverse industries and product types.
  • Translate business and user needs into clear, actionable design deliverables—journey maps, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity UI.
  • Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and researchers to drive clarity, align on priorities, and balance technical feasibility with user value.
  • Apply system thinking and contribute to (or build) scalable design systems that promote consistency and speed across products.
  • Facilitate design critiques and actively contribute to a positive, collaborative team culture.
  • Conduct or leverage user research and usability testing to inform design decisions and iterate effectively.
  • Document design rationale and handoff specifications to ensure smooth implementation with engineering.
  • Communicate with professionalism, confidence, and clarity when presenting work to internal and client stakeholders.

Minimum Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional experience in product design with a strong portfolio demonstrating end-to-end design work.
  • Strong system design and UX architecture skills, with the ability to simplify complex requirements into intuitive experiences.
  • Proficiency with Figma and tools such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Whimsical, SVGator, After Effects, or Lottie.
  • Solid foundation in interaction design, typography, color theory, and responsive UI.
  • Proven ability to operate independently and manage multiple workstreams without constant direction.
  • Demonstrated driver mentality—a proactive mindset and internal drive to deliver high-quality work and push projects forward.
  • Strong communication, documentation, and organizational skills.
  • Empathy for users and the ability to advocate for their needs within business and technical constraints.

Preferred Requirements

  • Experience designing for multiple industries or working in an agency/consulting environment.
  • Familiarity with accessibility standards (WCAG) and inclusive design practices.
  • Competence in using data and research (quantitative and qualitative) to guide design direction.
  • Experience in user interviews, usability testing, journey mapping, and persona development.

At Tech9, we are committed to providing a smooth, efficient, and transparent candidate experience. Our goal is to move quickly through the interview process, typically completing it within 2-3 weeks, depending on availability. We want to make sure you have clarity on every step, and we will keep you informed about the next steps as we progress. The desired start date for this position is July 14th, and we aim to complete the process two weeks prior to the start date.

About Atticus

At any given time, 16 million Americans are experiencing a crisis that requires urgent help from our legal system or government. The right assistance could transform their lives. But today, most never get it.

Atticus makes it easy for any sick or injured person in crisis to get the life-changing aid they deserve. In the last 6 years we’ve become the leading platform connecting people with disabilities to government benefits. We also help victims of accidents, misconduct, and violence get compensation from insurance. So far, we’ve gotten thousands of people access to over $4B in life-changing aid, and we’re just getting started.

We've helped more than 110,000 people in need (see our 13,000+ five-star reviews) and raised more than $100 million from top VC firms like Fika, Forerunner, GV (Google Ventures), and True Ventures. (We closed our Series C round in April 2025, so we're well-funded for the foreseeable future.) We're small but moving fast — our team grew from 89 to over 151 last year, and we expect to grow again in 2025.

The Job

At every step of our funnel, we aim to make choosing Atticus a no-brainer. Our platform covers a lot: evaluating a client’s case, giving advice, matching them with the right lawyer, formalizing the arrangement, and helping both parties work together as the case progresses. We hold ourselves to an incredibly high bar, because we know it results in life-changing aid for those in need. A few examples of what we’re currently working on:

  • Improve an existing framework to match clients to the best law firm in our network available (for their case, geography, client and firm preferences, etc.) and work with the Data Science team to turn it into a reality.
  • Interview partner law firms to prioritize the next set of features we’ll build, then partner with Design and Engineering to craft a formal roadmap and mock up wireframes for our next product launch.
  • Leverage data from our call center and case details to optimize how and when we reach clients across mediums and throughout their case lifecycle.
  • Build a core data platform to support multiple verticals at varying scales with model-driven decision making and personalization throughout the funnel.

Responsibilities

  • Get to know our users - both clients and lawyers - and understand their needs.
  • Craft a product vision for our next phase of growth. Go deep on strategy: become an expert in our business model, current offering, and key milestones to inform your work.
  • Develop a comprehensive product roadmap and build alignment for it with stakeholders and senior leadership.
  • Work with engineering and design to build and ship new products and features. Play the role of conductor, coordinating and empowering others.
  • Own key targets and metrics. Collect and analyze data, and use it to drive decision-making at a company level. Propose hypotheses, run experiments, and iterate quickly.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of product management experience, building and shipping products at scale
  • Demonstrated success in setting a product vision and strategy, and the ability to speak thoughtfully about the key decisions and tradeoffs you made
  • Knowledge of best practices (from past work in a high-performing organization) and the ability to instill a great product culture as we grow
  • Great communication and people skills — shown by great reviews from PMs, engineers and designers you’ve worked with
  • Mastery of data platforms and ability to do your own analysis
  • A demonstrated commitment to doing good and helping people
  • Bonus: Early-stage startup experience - complex consumer business, two-sided marketplace, and/or B2B product

Salary And Benefits

This is a rare opportunity to join a startup that has strong traction (substantial funding, well-respected backers, tremendous growth, and many happy customers) but is still small enough that you can have a huge impact and play a role in shaping our culture. We’re a certified B Corporation tackling a critical social problem. Our mission to help people in need drives everything we do, and your work here will touch many lives.

We offer competitive pay — including equity — and generous benefits:

  • Medical and dental insurance with 100% of employee premiums covered
  • 15 vacation days & ~19 paid holidays each year (including two weeks at end-of-year)
  • Free membership to OneMedical
  • $600/year reimbursable stipend for internet service
  • $1,000 reimbursable stipend for education and training outside of work
  • Up to $1,200/year student loan repayment assistance
  • 401(k) and optional HSA/FSA
  • Humble, thoughtful, smart, fun colleagues

Location

This job is fully remote and we’re committed to empowering everyone with flexibility. Live wherever, work remotely, and travel to LA (on the company dime) as needed to be with your colleagues —somewhere between quarterly and yearly. We care a lot about building a great culture and we think some interactions need to happen in person, so we put a lot of thought into retreats, offsites, and other ways to gather.

We are seeking a User Experience (UX) Designer to join our product team and help elevate the end-to-end experience of our platform. This is a unique opportunity to work on meaningful problems, contribute to a growing design system, and shape how users interact with tools that drive real-world impact.

Our Core Values Are

Simplicity | Security | Innovation | Accessibility | People-Centric Culture

Key Responsibilities

Design & Prototyping

  • Design user flows, wireframes, mockups, and interactive prototypes in Figma.
  • Confidently use advanced features like auto layout, component variants, libraries, and asset management.
  • Contribute to and maintain our internal design system for scalable and consistent design.

User-Centered Problem Solving

  • Engage directly with users and internal teams to understand pain points and discover root issues.
  • Translate feedback and qualitative data into actionable design improvements.
  • Balance empathy with analytical thinking to solve complex UX challenges.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with project managers and engineers to bring ideas to life.
  • Understand how React-based components are built and how designs transition from Figma to code.
  • Contribute scrappy, technically-informed ideas to enhance UX—such as A/B tests, tracking integrations, or use of open-source tools.

Continuous Learning & Improvement

  • Stay curious and engaged with new tools, patterns, and UX trends.
  • Suggest smart enhancements to improve user experience across products.
  • Help elevate design quality and culture across the team.
  • Approaches feedback—whether positive or critical—as a tool for growth and is able to iterate quickly based on input from diverse stakeholders.

Who You Are

Has a bachelor’s degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Computer Science, or a related field required. Equivalent practical experience may be considered for exceptional candidates. Demonstrates a growth mindset through continuous learning, user feedback integration, and iterative design improvements. 2+ years of proven experience in a UX, product design, or operations role within a company. Expert-level proficiency in Figma, especially with design systems. Candidates should be prepared to demonstrate their skills as part of the interview process through a hands-on exercise and/or portfolio review. Detail-oriented, analytical, and naturally inquisitive—you pull threads until you get to the core problem. Technically fluent enough to understand the DOM, how React components function, and how engineers build from designs. Open to experimentation and quick iterations using technical tools and data-driven insights. Strong communicator who thrives in a collaborative, cross-functional environment, particularly when working with product managers, developers, and other designers. Highly responsive and able to provide timely input, as project timelines, agile sprints, and user feedback loops often depend on quick, clear communication. Receptive to transparent feedback and values open communication, with a team-oriented mindset and an understanding that all contributions align toward a shared goal: improving and simplifying the customer experience. Must live within a reasonable commuting distance and have reliable transportation to be in-office at least 1 day per week.

Portfolio Requirements

Your Portfolio Should Demonstrate

  • End-to-end product thinking, including problem discovery, user insights, and iteration.
  • Well-structured UX flows and rationale behind design decisions.
  • High-fidelity UI examples with the use of Figma components and design systems.
  • Collaboration across disciplines—include examples where you worked closely with PMs, engineers, or data teams. (Optional) Include case studies that highlight outcomes, metrics, or learnings.

What This Role Does Not Include

  • Visual design work that lacks a systems thinking approach.
  • Full-scale front-end development (but you should understand how your work connects to it).

Why Join Us?

  • Work on meaningful design challenges with real impact on users’ lives.
  • Be part of a collaborative, thoughtful, and curious team.
  • Enjoy a hybrid work model with purposeful in-office days to support work-life balance and team connection.
