Job Description

Hudson River Trading  (HRT) is looking for a Financial Planning & Analytics Lead to join our Finance & Strategy team. The Finance & Strategy team is involved in firm strategy, corporate development, planning & analysis, and special projects at HRT. This role is an exciting new opportunity to impact financial decisions at the firm. In this role, you and the team will work closely to analyze business opportunities, improve processes, and interact with external parties. The ideal candidate should have an interest in financial technology, capital markets, financial analysis, and strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of financial models, including profitability analysis, capital allocation, and expense analysis
  • Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities within trading strategies and market conditions
  • Oversee the forecasting process, collaborating with other finance teams to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and alignment with strategic goals and peer benchmarking
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive financial reporting systems to monitor performance indicators, highlighting trends and analyzing causes of unexpected variance
  • Provide financial insights and recommendations to senior management
  • Identify opportunities to improve operational and financial efficiency, including cost reduction and process optimization

Qualifications

  • Extensive experience in financial planning and analysis, preferably within the finance, trading, or investment banking industries; proven experience in high-frequency trading, algorithmic trading, or related fields is preferred
  • Deep understanding of the trading industry, market dynamics, and the regulatory environment; proven experience in high-frequency trading, algorithmic trading, or related fields is preferred
  • Strong background in financial modeling and data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, VBA, Python, or R), budgeting, and forecasting with a solid understanding of financial statements and financial analysis techniques
  • Excellent analytical, quantitative, and strategic thinking skills
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and persuasively
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, accounting, or a related field; master's degree or higher (e.g., MBA, MS in Finance, or relevant field) is preferred
  • Professional certifications such as CFA are a plus

Annual base salary range of $150,000 to $300,000. Pay (base and bonus) may vary depending on job-related skills and experience. A sign-on and discretionary performance bonus may be provided as part of the total compensation package, in addition to company-paid medical and/or other benefits.
