Who You Are

Justworks is seeking an experienced payments professional for one of our core operational areas to work collaboratively with several key teams within the company. Payment Processing Systems Manager will be responsible for assisting the Senior Manager of Payments in shaping the company’s payments strategy, proposing and implementing process and technology improvements, and coordinating with product and engineering teams to test new features and troubleshoot any system issues. You are someone who enjoys working with both operations and technology, bridging the gap between these two areas.

The Payment Processing Systems Manager will team up with Payments Operations and Fraud Operations, product managers and engineers from all areas of the company, Accounting and Finance, Customer Success Organization, as well as Justworks Payroll and International entities to create and maintain successful features and programs for Justworks’ customers - both internally and externally.

What You Will Work On

  • Leverage your payments expertise to provide thought leadership and insights into general industry needs and business needs for Justworks.
  • Develop and scope both internal and customer-facing tools with product managers; speak as the voice of operations during scoping exercises.
  • Assist in designing efficient processes for internal operations and drive development of tools to support them.
  • Collect, suggest, and evaluate new feature requests from Payments Operations and Fraud Operations teams and work with the product teams to prioritize.
  • Work with the engineering teams to test, document, and resolve bugs prior to new product or feature launch.
  • Provide new product training for the Payments Operations and Fraud Operations teams (and other users when necessary).
  • Be a resource for first responders for payments processing-related incidents; make and support complex payments-related decisions by utilizing all available data points, including your best judgment.
  • Help to own and maintain internal resources center for Payments Operations and Fraud Operations policies and procedures, ensuring information is kept up-to-date.
  • Serve as the payments subject matter expert to the entire company.
  • Lead special projects and perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in payments and services, preferably to a diverse set of small and medium businesses from multiple industries.
  • Operational knowledge of payment processing methods (ACH, RTP, Wires etc.), protocols and platforms at scale.
  • Strong understanding of business fundamentals, experience in contributing to complex projects, with a keen interest in bridging the gap between people and technology. You aim to harmonize business objectives, user requirements, market trends, and customer satisfaction.
  • Ability to work effectively in an environment of complexity, ambiguity, and changing priorities based on business needs.
  • Advanced communication skills, including experience communicating effectively with different stakeholders and levels of management.
  • Proactive, with a can-do attitude and strong interpersonal skills – comfortable working with and building consensus across all functions and levels of the organization.
  • Familiarity with basic SQL, Jira, and Excel is a plus.

The base wage range for this position based in our New York City Office is targeted at $109,000.00 to $120,000.00 per year.
