Job Description

CoreWeave is searching for a Senior Tax Manager to oversee the US federal, state, and local income tax as well as sales & use tax compliance and planning processes, along with ad hoc special projects. The ideal candidate must be capable of managing CoreWeave’s income tax compliance while reviewing difficult calculations specific to technology companies, collaborate with people throughout all parts of the organization, manage compliance engagements with outside tax advisors, and have a desire to grow and develop their skills in tax compliance and planning. The candidate will have exposure to every aspect of CoreWeave’s accounting function and will take a leadership role in building the team out in preparation for a public transaction.

Your Role:

  • Own, design and build the overall tax function of the organization from building a better tracking system to evaluating tools to support tax needs
  • Ensure accurate, timely filing of consolidated federal, state, and local income tax returns and other business-related filings (i.e., sales tax, payroll tax).
  • Manage relationships with external tax advisors, working aside them to ensure that they are providing high-quality, cost-effective services while developing and implementing strategic tax planning for all necessary federal, state, and local taxes.
  • Oversee various credit programs including R&D, through collaboration with Coreweave’s Governmental Affairs team
  • Assist in the preparation and review of the annual and quarterly income tax provision (ASC 740) and all related assumptions, analyses, journal entries, calculations and footnote disclosures.

+ Manage and coordinate with the finance and accounting departments, along with collaboration with external service providers

  • Monitor legislative/regulatory tax law developments, communicate the related income tax compliance impacts, and propose solutions/planning ideas
  • Maintain effective control procedures over all aspects of the tax process
  • Oversee/manage 3rd party consultants (cost/benefit analysis, bidding, cost optimization)
  • Accelerate the professional growth of junior and mid-career internal audit staff to make CoreWeave the “hardest job they’ll ever love”

Your Experience:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting or Taxation; CPA required
  • 7 to 9 years of US income tax experience in public accounting and/or a corporate environment required
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience with Netsuite
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Comfortable building and managing a tax team, showcasing effective leadership, and fostering a collaborative work environment to achieve department goals.
  • Strong, clear verbal and written communication skills

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $150,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
