Job Description

CoreWeave is building Conductor, a revolutionary cloud platform for the Media & Entertainment Industry. Our mission is to lead the transition from on-premises infrastructure to cloud-based, infinitely scalable and on-demand resources for rendering, simulation and beyond. Conductor enables entire workflows of VFX and Animation facilities, whether they’re using custom tools or off the shelf software to extend seamlessly into the cloud.

Head of Product

Following our acquisition by CoreWeave, we’re looking for an experienced Head of Product to join us in expanding what is becoming indispensable part of the filmmaking toolset! Our ideal candidate has a mix of enterprise technology management, software development and VFX or Animation industry experience. You’ll have a passion for building amazing products that delights IT decision-makers, render wranglers and artists alike. 

Do you want to be instrumental in the future of M&E cloud-based services?

We need you to manage the development team as well as lead, define and evolve product requirements, correlate them with user workflows and guide the team through key milestones. As Head of Product, you’ll be responsible for building and guiding a successful development team, while identifying and tracking key performance indicators, including QA and support goals while implementing product management processes that’ll support company and product growth. Ultimately, you’ll be a key player in giving the industry a great excuse to move their demanding and expensive workflows into the cloud.

Responsibilities

  • Be an evangelist to Conductor customers, ensuring that our users are aware of, and feel part of, the product’s vision.
  • Communicate with current and future customers to identify needs, and codify their various inputs into an actionable, prioritized development game plan.
  • Provide hands-on leadership to build a world-class team of engineers and a set of processes that deliver industry leading products. Attract, develop, and retain technical talent to ensure a highly effective engineering organization.
  • Contribute to critical decisions and processes, developing an overall technology strategy to empower the development team and deliver a stunning product.
  • Work with Engineering to form product requirements that balance the realities of development with urgent customer needs, while simultaneously achieving business objectives.
  • Determine team assignments based on skill sets, priorities and project demands. Ensure that developers are held accountable for quality and timeliness of deliverables.
  • Set and track goals for key customer-facing metrics such as performance, cost effectiveness & reliability.
  • Write specifications, manage project execution, plan A/B testing, create UI/UX wireframes and define product release milestones.
  • Process, review and interpret large bodies of qualitative and quantitative data on customer usage patterns to uncover new product insights.
  • Facilitate frequent communication between our development team and customers.
  • Identify gaps or conflicts in requirements, manage risks & UAT defects and drive toward resolution.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Product Design or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 5+ years of product management experience
  • Proven experience managing a team of developers to deliver high quality products
  • Enthusiastic team player happy to wear many hats, and excited about participating in a fast-paced and ever-changing startup environment
  • Proven experience building complex, user-focused products and a passion for creating amazing user experiences
  • Excellent analytical skills to break down and solve complex problems
  • Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally, promoting teamwork and understanding between different types of workers and thinkers
  • Experience with iterative and incremental development
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
  • Excellent business judgement
  • Excellent organizational skills while managing multiple ongoing projects
  • A background working with products for post-production and media customers, and an understanding of production workflows
  • Exposure to media authoring and rendering tools such as Maya, Cinema 4D, Houdini, Katana, V-Ray, Arnold, Renderman
  • You have the technical skillset to talk shop and work closely with our engineers
