Voice is the most natural modality for human interaction with machines. However, current sequence modeling paradigms based on jointly scaling model and data cannot deliver voice AI capable of universal human interaction. The challenges are rooted in fundamental data problems posed by audio: real-world audio data is scarce and enormously diverse, spanning a vast space of voices, speaking styles, and acoustic conditions. Even if billions of hours of audio were accessible, its inherent high dimensionality creates computational and storage costs that make training and deployment prohibitively expensive at world scale. We believe that entirely new paradigms for audio AI are needed to overcome these challenges and make voice interaction accessible to everyone.

The Role

--------

Deepgram is currently looking for seasoned Data Scientists with demonstrated experience solving hard data problems while exploring research frontiers to join our Research Staff. Conversational audio presents incredibly rich scientific, engineering, and infrastructure challenges that are orders of magnitude harder than working with text. As a Member of the Research Staff, you will help us to build an industrial “data factory” that will be used to power the next generation of Voice AI systems - unlocking the creation of models that go beyond basic transcription and comprehension, capturing nuanced meanings in complex conversations, adapting robustly to diverse speech patterns, and generating empathic responses with human-like, contextualized speech. You will collaborate closely with our product, engineering, and data teams to build and deploy models in the most scalable voice API on the planet. What You'll Do

--------------

  • Drive high performance data acquisition, preparation and synthesis pipelines to generate data for the next generation of speech and language AI foundation models
  • Develop advanced characterizations of complex conversational audio utilizing a diverse toolkit of signals processing techniques and deep learning models
  • Collaborate with DataOps and Engineering to create automated systems which scale the ability of human annotators to label high value data and provide critical feedback on model outputs
  • Build advanced benchmarking methodologies and curated datasets for evaluating conversational voice systems
  • Document and present results of data experiments and analysis for internal and external audiences

As a Senior Technical Recruiter, you’ll own full-cycle recruiting for some of our most complex and high-impact roles across Research, Engineering, Infrastructure, and Product, across both US and international markets. You’ll help Deepgram scale by building pipelines across geographies, navigating regional market dynamics, and partnering closely with People Ops on compliant, scalable hiring practices.

This role requires comfort with deep technical conversations, strong judgment, and a systems-level view of recruiting- not just within one market, but across time zones, cultures, and talent pools.

What you'll do

  • Own full-cycle recruiting for senior and hard-to-fill technical roles across Research, Engineering, and Product teams.
  • Lead global recruiting efforts across multiple regions (e.g. US, EMEA, APAC), including sourcing, interviewing, and closing candidates in diverse markets.
  • Partner with hiring managers to define role scope, leveling, and interview plans that account for both business needs and regional talent realities.
  • Build proactive sourcing strategies for niche and senior-level technical talent in the US and abroad.
  • Evaluate candidates for technical depth, impact, and alignment with Deepgram’s values across different cultural and regional contexts.
  • Deliver a high-quality candidate experience across time zones through clear communication, thoughtful process design, and operational rigor.
  • Use data and funnel metrics to diagnose issues, improve signal quality, and increase hiring velocity globally.
  • Collaborate with People Ops, Legal, and Finance to support compliant global hiring (employment models, offers, and regional considerations).

What you bring

  • 5+ years of experience recruiting for technical roles, with demonstrated success hiring across Engineering and/or Research-heavy teams.
  • Hands-on experience leading global expansion efforts, including hiring across multiple countries or regions.
  • Experience recruiting for at least two of the following domains:  

   Research / MLInfrastructure / Distributed SystemsProduct.

  • Strong technical literacy- you don’t need to code, but you should understand how modern software systems, APIs, and ML-driven products are built. We are an AI-native company and believe in the future of these products.
  • Proven ability to source and close senior-level and highly specialized technical talent in competitive, international markets.
  • Comfort operating in ambiguity and helping teams sharpen what “good” looks like across different regions.

This role is both strategic and hands-on. Opportunity:

You will design and implement secure, robust, and scalable services for data cataloging, querying, and access; efficient, distributed compute orchestration for ML training jobs; integrations with Research tooling, and more. Your skill at building highly reusable code that overcomes technical challenges will be paired with an intuition for what improves researcher productivity and model quality.   • Improve Deepgram’s core data ingestion, cataloging, and transformation services including areas in networking, speech processing, audio transcoding, and latency and memory optimization

  • Develop processes for measuring, building, and optimizing services to maximize system performance

You’ll be the technical backbone of the QA function—building automation, running tests, and ensuring every release is qualified. As QA Lead Engineer, you’ll directly protect product reliability and customer trust while raising the bar for testing across engineering.

We are on the lookout for a Senior/Lead Content Designer to join the Quick Commerce team on our journey to always deliver amazing experiences.

This is our first hire to establish our Content Design practice, and the person will report to the Senior Director, Product Design and Research. In this role, you will focus on creating intuitive, user-centered content strategy and copy that drives exceptional product user experience and high business impact. You will also play a key role in building our Content Design practice from the ground up, establishing foundational guidelines, processes, and standards. To excel, you must possess strong systems-thinking, product sense, and a high comfort level with ambiguity.

You will partner regularly with cross-functional teams, including product design, UX research, engineering, product management, data science, and business functions, to create cohesive experiences with a consistent voice that drives increased productivity for our global Quick Commerce internal and vendor users.

  • Build scalable content frameworks (voice & tone, patterns, guidelines) and establish content design as a valued discipline through high-quality work, clear communication, and strategic influence.
  • Partner closely with Product Design, UX Research, Product Management, and Localization to ensure content is integrated early, translates effectively into 20+ languages, and aligns with global content design teams.
  • Operate with high autonomy as a team of one—managing multiple fast-moving work streams, prioritizing ruthlessly, and balancing strategic initiatives with substantial hands-on tactical execution.
  • Drive progress through ambiguity by making confident independent decisions, overcoming obstacles, educating cross-functional partners, and advocating for the value of content design.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in content strategy, UX writing, content design, information architecture, or similar roles within digital product companies, with 4+ years designing B2B or consumer-facing mobile and desktop experiences.
  • Bachelor's degree in Design, HCI, Communication Design, Literature, Journalism, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams—including product managers, designers, researchers, engineers, and stakeholders—while establishing user-centered processes in agile environments.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, with experience presenting ideas, influencing without authority, and building stakeholder credibility.
  • Expertise in designing multi-language, multi-market products, accessibility and inclusive design, and delivering complex, large-scale initiatives with a focus on scalable content systems and patterns.
  • Proficient with product and content design tools (e.g., Figma) and able to translate research into user-centered content that drives measurable impact (including 2–3 case studies demonstrating process, collaboration, and results).

  • Experience in e-commerce or high-growth environments, solving ambiguous B2B or internal customer-focused problems.
