How to Include Salary Ranges in Your Job Postings

We’ve spent the last few weeks digging into pay transparency and, today, we’re going to dive even further into the nitty gritty.

Once you’ve made the case for pay transparency, considered the legal requirements, and actually implemented more transparent pay policies, you will need to consider how transparent you want to be with prospective employees.

Pay transparency is a spectrum and, as always, you get to decide how transparent you will be.

To help you decide, we’ve rounded up examples from a few of our favorite hiring partners. ✨

Customer.io

Customer.io uses clear, simple language to include a salary range and list of benefits in every job posting.

We love how detailed the list of benefits is. It not only shows off the value by including dollar amounts where appropriate, but it gives great insight into what they value as a team.

👉🏻 Check out Customer.io's open roles for more examples.

Circle

Circle includes a narrow salary range in all of their job postings, alongside a simple list of other benefits.

When a role includes variable compensation, they call that out and include an estimate of what the On-Target Earnings (OTE) should look like. We love this additional level of transparency.

👉🏻 Check out Circle's open roles for more examples.

Superhuman

If you're worried about conveying all the nuance that goes into a salary decision, look no further than Superhuman.

When they're open to varying levels of experience and locations, they share the starting salary range for US-based candidates. This narrow range provides clarity because it allows everyone to extrapolate from there without getting bogged down in the details.

We also love how their benefits are broken into subcategories for easy skimming.

👉🏻 Check out Superhuman's open roles for more examples.
