Zoox was founded to make personal transportation safer, cleaner, and more enjoyable—for everyone. To achieve that goal, the team created a whole new form of transportation. Zoox will provide mobility-as-a-service in dense urban environments.
Mission and Vision
We will handle the driving, charging, maintenance, and upgrades for our fleet of vehicles. The rider will simply pay for the service. In 2020, Zoox joined forces with Amazon. And in the process, solidified our future in the autonomous vehicle industry. We are focused on testing on private and public roads as we move towards launching the first Zoox ride-hailing service.
Led by CEO Aicha Evans and co-founder and CTO Jesse Levinson, Zoox is applying the latest techniques in automotive, robotics, and renewable energy to build an autonomous, symmetrical, bidirectional, battery-electric vehicle that solves the unique challenges of autonomous mobility. Its ground-up vehicle focuses on the ride-hailing customer, with tightly integrated features designed to provide a revolutionary passenger experience.
Now, Zoox is continuing to push the industry forward by revealing its fully autonomous vehicle, built for riders, not drivers.
Our ‘full-stack’ approach delivers:
- A fundamental shift: from reactive to proactive safety. We call our strategy ‘Prevent and Protect’. Our vehicle is designed to keep you safe—whether you’re riding with us or not.
- Our shared fleet of all-electric Zoox vehicles will reduce congestion and pollution in our cities.
- Personal transportation designed around the rider. It isn’t an updated car—it’s a whole new form of transportation, with every detail designed around riders, not drivers.
