SENIOR PRODUCT MANAGER

Location: Remote (except California)

Status: Full-Time

At Misfits & Machines, the innovation sister company of Marketing Architects, we’re not just exploring what AI can create—we’re building transformative technologies that help marketers machine remarkable growth in the age of AI. Our team is obsessed with reimagining the marketing value chain through automation, machine learning, and scalable innovation. If you believe the future belongs to bold ideas executed with precision and humanity, we’d love to meet you.

Our Senior Product Manager will collaborate with engineering, design, business development and our development partner to bring a platform to life that delivers meaningful value to marketing and creative teams. This is a high-trust, high-visibility role with real ownership over how product gets built at Misfits & Machines.

While our home base is in Minneapolis, you can work from anywhere that works for you including cities like Chicago, Atlanta, New York, Austin, Portland and more.

Role Overview

You will lead the development and launch of a new AI-enabled marketing platform. This is a pivotal role in turning a clear strategic vision into a focused, actionable product. You’ll report to our Senior Vice President, Strategic Partnerships and will have an opportunity to help define how product lives at Misfits & Machines. From roadmap to release, you’ll be at the center of a cross-functional effort to create something both innovative and impactful.

Your Responsibilities Will Include

  • Leading the definition and evolution of the roadmap based on user needs, business goals and strategic priorities.
  • Conducting user research, prototyping and testing to ensure we’re solving real problems with meaningful solutions.
  • Working closely with engineering and design to turn vision into features; prioritizing scope, managing trade-offs and maintaining momentum.
  • Establishing clear goals for adoption, retention and impact, and use data to inform decisions and guide iteration.
  • Aligning stakeholders across product, engineering, marketing, design and partnerships to ensure clarity.
  • Helping build the product function’s operating model by establishing workflows and standards for how we work and ship.

Qualifications

  • 6+ years in product management or hybrid product-owner roles with full ownership of the product lifecycle
  • Experience with AI-enabled platforms and automation tools, especially in marketing, advertising, or creative technology
  • Demonstrated success launching and scaling early-stage products, from discovery through delivery
  • Familiarity working with cross-functional teams and managing delivery across internal and partner stakeholders

  • Comfortable with product discovery: user interviews, prototyping, assumption mapping and validation
  • Strategic thinker with tactical follow-through

Benefits Overview

We offer rewarding careers that encourage growth while providing industry-leading benefits including:

  • 100% employer-paid medical, dental and disability, with vision option
  • Generous 401(k) matching
  • Flexible paid time off, 9 paid holidays plus 2 floating holidays
  • Paid parental leave
  • Annual office supply allowance, monthly internet stipend, and employer-paid cell phone
  • Opportunities to connect virtually, and in-person twice a year with our fully remote team

Company Overview

At Misfits & Machines we incubate and accelerate bold ventures through challenger thinking and AI tinkering. Our sister agency: Marketing Architects gives us an unfair advantage of capital, brainpower and technology. Our symbiotic relationship gives us the muscle needed to dig wide moats around our ideas, creating categories of one.

We want applications from everyone, regardless of race, creed, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, marital status, citizen status, age, disability, military or protected veteran status, genetic predisposition or carrier status or any other legally protected status.

Our remote-friendly work model supports flexibility across the US, however we are currently unable to support employment in California. We are unable to consider applicants who live outside of the US.

At this time, we're not considering candidates that need any type of immigration sponsorship (additional work authorization or permanent work authorization) now or in the future. This includes, but is not limited to: F1-OPT, F1-CPT, H-1B, TN, L-1, J-1, etc.

The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs, location and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.

Compensation Range: $140K - $170K

--------------

  • Using proficient discovery to understand what challenges our prospects face in billing, launching new products, pricing & packaging, quote-to-cash, customer experience, and related areas.
  • Telling a clear value story about how and where Metronome solves those challenges and creates opportunities.
  • Planning, building, and running customized demos of Metronome for buyers with many different personas (engineering, product management, operations, finance, etc).
  • Building relationships with people at our prospect organizations, from day-to-day operators to C-Suite executives. We believe in meeting our customers in-person whenever possible.
  • Designing integrations of Metronome into prospect systems and consultatively influencing the direction of our prospects’ pricing and packaging.
  • Running tight Proofs of Concept with clearly-defined success criteria that get us to the technical win.
  • Doing detailed scoping to ensure that customers are set up for success post-sales.
  • Ensuring a proper handoff to our post-sales Professional Services, Solutions Architecture, and Growth counterparts.

…all of this with prospects at the scale of our most strategic current customers (like Confluent, Databricks, OpenAI, and Anthropic). Expect these engagements to be complex, deep, technical, and most of all interesting. Metronome directly influences how the internet monetizes - AI is an obvious current example - and our group is on the front lines driving this influence with our prospects.

Metronome is a startup. As such, there’s a lot still to figure out and tremendous room for high-agency people to impact our direction and strategy, build processes from zero to one, and generally make a difference. If this excites you as much as it excites us, let’s talk.

Qualifications

--------------

This is roughly the set of things we’re looking for - if you’re interested in this role and don’t meet some of these on paper, err on the side of applying!

  • 5+ years of experience working in technical and/or customer-facing roles involving SaaS products (for example, roles like sales engineering, solutions architecture, technical account management).
  • Experience running complex sales cycles with enterprise tech companies.
  • Experience in fast-moving startup environments that value high agency.
  • Ability to quickly learn and communicate technical concepts to technical, go-to-market, and finance stakeholders.
  • Excitement for building and improving GTM playbooks and processes.

Bonus Points

  • Deep knowledge of the quote-to-cash space, including integrating with or otherwise interacting with tools like Salesforce, NetSuite, CPQs, etc.
  • Experience as a software engineer, product manager, or in other technical roles.
  • Experience in a pure sales role, particularly selling to technical buyers in engineering and product organizations or selling as a founding or early salesperson at a startup.
  • Experience with logs, metrics, billing, finance, or other infrastructure or financial tooling and concepts.

Compensation

The estimated base salary range for this role is $149,600 - $210,000. In addition to your base salary, Metronome offers a competitive total rewards package, including but not limited to market-benched equity, incentive pay, comprehensive health benefits, and other benefits listed below.

The actual base salary will vary based on factors including market value, individual qualifications objectively assessed during the interview process, and previous experience. The listed range above should serve as a guideline and may be modified at any time.

We believe that compensation reflects the expected impact you will have at the company, relative to the market value of your role. We also conduct an annual pay audit to ensure pay is fair, indexed to market value, and that pay takes into account continued performance at Metronome. If you would like to learn more about our philosophy or about why we are all billing nerds, send us a message. We’d love to talk!
