We promote best practices and work closely with development, product, and design teams to deliver outstanding user experiences. The team fosters a culture of continuous learning, innovation, and technical excellence—empowering each member to make a meaningful impact.

About the Role

As a QA Engineer, you’ll ensure quality across the full technology stack—from backend services to the user-facing client. You’ll design test plans, perform various testing techniques (including API and database validation), and manage defects for integrated features. Working closely with both frontend and backend developers, you’ll verify data integrity, test integrations, and drive quality improvements. • Assess feature complexity to identify appropriate API, database, and client test scenarios.
  • Support estimation of testing efforts for upcoming development stories.

Execution & Defect Management

  • Execute manual and automated full-stack tests, including API testing (e.g., Postman) and database validation.

  • Maintain and enhance QA documentation for integrated systems.

Technical Contribution

  • Build a strong understanding of the product’s client-server architecture.
  • Use API testing tools, SQL clients, and other utilities to validate system integration.
  • Contribute to test automation by writing or maintaining scripts for API and client behavior validation.

Required:

  • QA Experience: 1–3+ years in software quality assurance, with hands-on experience testing frontend and backend systems.
  • Testing Expertise: Strong grasp of QA methodologies, including API, integration, and client-side testing.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in API testing tools (Postman, Swagger) and basic SQL for data validation.
  • Analytical Thinking: Ability to interpret requirements, create detailed test cases, and solve across the stack.
  • Organization: Strong time management and prioritization skills in a fast-paced environment.
  • Collaboration: Proven success working with cross-functional teams.
  • Attitude: Demonstrated curiosity, adaptability, and eagerness to learn new tools and testing strategies.

Preferred:

  • Experience with version control (e.g., Git).
  • Basic scripting or programming skills (Python, C#, Java).
  • Background in game testing or the gaming industry.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and tools (e.g., Jenkins).

My Co-Founder, Mitchell, and I launched Deposely with a handful of top-level goals in mind:

  • Solve real problems
  • Learn new skills
  • Have fun doing it

Our philosophy around building a team is centered around passion and compassion. By that, I mean we want our team to be all-in while keeping the human aspect top-of-mind. You’ll find that our team is full of energy, serious but not too serious, and also understanding.

What is Deposely and why should you care?

We’re an early-stage team excited about technology and the legal space.

We love what we do because legal work is important and protects every-day people, but it’s also extremely underdeveloped from a tech perspective, and AI is beginning to make meaningful change in this space.

Deposely solves one specific subsection of the work litigators do, but it’s a big part: depositions. You may have seen in Suits or other shows where a lawyer will sit down in a conference room across from a witness with a camera pointed at them and ask them questions under oath—that’s a deposition. Unlike those shows, though, hours and hours of work go into preparing for, conducting, and reviewing depositions, and that’s where Deposely comes in.

We save real time and money for lawyers and their clients, and we give them better tools to improve their chances of success.

While we are early stage, we already have:

  • Dozens of paying clients
  • Hundreds of users
  • In-progress sales motions with AM Law 200 firms
  • Several distribution parters

And beyond just our bottom line, we also believe in increasing equitable access to justice through technology. From near day 1, we’ve launched several programs focused on the A2J fight, including Deposely Essentials and the Deposely Justice Initiative.

The Role

This isn't just another senior role. As our Senior Software Engineer, you will be working closely with the CTO, making critical decisions on product, customers, and our technical vision. You will be expected to build and ship industry-defining features at startup speed. We are a team of ex-Big Tech engineers and senior leader who have validated our product vision at the highest level of the legal industry. We’re looking for a partner to help us build it.

What you’ll do at Deposely:

  • Full-Stack Development: Architect and build both front-end and back-end systems, ensuring seamless integration of AI features.
  • AI & Agentic Development: Develop and integrate AI components, including language models, agentic workflows, and document analysis tools, to power core deposition functionality.
  • Product Leadership: Work closely with customers and the founding team to prioritize features and align technical work with business objectives.
  • Technical Strategy: Influence the overall technical direction, including decisions on frameworks, infrastructure, and scalability.
  • Customer Collaboration: Engage directly with customers to gather feedback, test features, and iterate on the product.

You could be a great fit if you:

  • Have 5+ years of experience shipping serious products end-to-end.
  • Are experienced with both front-end (React/NextJS or similar) and back-end (NestJS or similar) development.
  • Are comfortable working with LLMs, RAG pipelines, and integrating AI agents into real-world applications.
  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment and excited to shape processes and structures.
  • Are passionate about building solutions that delight users and solve real problems.
  • Are able to work cross-functionally and explain technical decisions to non-technical stakeholders.

What We Offer

  • Competitive compensation
  • Equity grant
  • Unlimited PTO with a recommended 4 weeks (and we will bug you if you go too long without using it)
  • Medical, dental, and vision
  • Professional development stipend
  • Office space in downtown Bellevue, WA
  • A fun team that genuinely cares

How We Hire

No one likes super drawn out hiring loops, so we keep ours fairly tight with just 3 rounds over a 1-2 week period:

  • Round 1: Intro with CTO
  • Round 2: Virtual technical interview
  • Onsite: Two technical interviews + Meet the CEO

Company Overview

====================

Deepgram is the leading voice AI platform for developers building speech-to-text (STT), text-to-speech (TTS) and full speech-to-speech (STS) offerings. 200,000+ developers build with Deepgram’s voice-native foundational models – accessed through APIs or as self-managed software – due to our unmatched accuracy, latency and pricing. Customers include software companies building voice products, co-sell partners working with large enterprises, and enterprises solving internal voice AI use cases. The company ended 2024 cash-flow positive with 400+ enterprise customers, 3.3x annual usage growth across the past 4 years, over 50,000 years of audio processed and over 1 trillion words transcribed. There is no organization in the world that understands voice better than Deepgram.

Company Operating Rhythm

============================

At Deepgram, we expect an AI-first mindset—AI use and comfort aren’t optional, they’re core to how we operate, innovate, and measure performance.

Every team member who works at Deepgram is expected to actively use and experiment with advanced AI tools, and even build your own into your everyday work. We measure how effectively AI is applied to deliver results, and consistent, creative use of the latest AI capabilities is key to success here. Candidates should be comfortable adopting new models and modes quickly, integrating AI into their workflows, and continuously pushing the boundaries of what these technologies can do.

Additionally, we move at the pace of AI. Change is rapid, and you can expect your day-to-day work to evolve just as quickly. This may not be the right role if you’re not excited to experiment, adapt, think on your feet, and learn constantly, or if you’re seeking something highly prescriptive with a traditional 9-to-5.

Opportunity:

Deepgram is looking for a Backend Software Engineer to join the Engine team to lead the design and implementation of Deepgram’s products. You will design and implement secure, robust, and scalable services for speech processing; efficient, distributed compute orchestration; optimized scheduling, and more. Your skill at building highly reusable code that overcomes technical challenges is paired with an intuition for delightful user experiences. You will be a critical voice in Deepgram’s Product and Engineering teams, driving high impact products from start to finish.

What You’ll Do

  • Improve Deepgram’s core inference services including areas in networking, speech processing, audio transcoding, and latency and memory optimization
  • Develop processes for measuring, building, and optimizing services to maximize system performance
  • Debug complex system issues that include networking, scheduling, and high performance computing interactions
  • Rapidly customize backend services to support our customer needs
  • Partner with Product to design and implement new services, features, and/or products end to end

You’ll Love This Role If You

  • Thrive in a fast-paced, impact-driven environment where learning new skills on-the-fly is not only encouraged but a regular necessity
  • Enjoy balancing decisions about product and feature maturity to decide when to make minimally invasive changes versus when to incorporate detailed design work

It’s Important To Us That You Have

  • 3+ years of experience in an industry role
  • Programming experience in Rust (or C, C++), with competence in Python
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, both written and verbal.
  • A high level of experience and understanding of version control; preferably git.
  • Comprehensive experience with UNIX-style systems.

It Would Be Great if You Had

  • Experience with modern machine learning, such as experience with a framework like Torch or implementation knowledge of architectures like CNNs, RNNS, and transformers
  • Experience with audio processing

Backed by prominent investors including Y Combinator, Madrona, Tiger Global, Wing VC and NVIDIA, Deepgram has raised over $85 million in total funding. If you're looking to work on cutting-edge technology and make a significant impact in the AI industry, we'd love to hear from you!

Deepgram is an equal opportunity employer. We want all voices and perspectives represented in our workforce. We are a curious bunch focused on collaboration and doing the right thing. We put our customers first, grow together and move quickly. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, age, marital status, veteran status, disability status, pregnancy, parental status, genetic information, political affiliation, or any other status protected by the laws or regulations in the locations where we operate.

We are happy to provide accommodations for applicants who need them.

We’re expanding rapidly, and we’re looking for an engineer eager to help shape the future of both a route-optimization product and a large-scale API platform that supports a global developer community.

If you thrive in a fast-paced environment, are driven by innovation, and want to help scale platforms used by builders and businesses alike, we’d love to hear from you!The Role You Will Have:- Help build the services and integrations that power RoadWarrior’s route optimization platform and the APIs that comprise the MapQuest for Developers ecosystem.

  • Design and implement scalable backend systems in Node.js: Develop modern backend services using Node.js (with TypeScript preferred) optimized for scale, low latency, and reliability.

  • Deliver end-to-end ownership: Take projects from planning and architecture through implementation, deployment, and ongoing support.
  • Collaborate across teams: Work closely with engineers, product managers, and stakeholders across both product lines to solve complex backend and data challenges.
  • Adapt quickly in an agile environment: Operate with autonomy while contributing to lightweight, agile planning and prioritization processes.

What You Will Bring:- 5+ years of backend development experience, with a proven record of building systems at scale.

  • 3+ years of production experience in Node.js, ideally with TypeScript.
  • 2+ years of experience with NoSQL databases, especially MongoDB.
  • Bonus: Familiarity with GraphQL, even if not used day-to-day, is appreciated.
  • Commitment to code quality: You follow engineering best practices, write clean and maintainable code, and are comfortable in Git-driven workflows.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills: You can clearly articulate ideas, lead discussions, and manage your time effectively.
  • Experience with mapping and geolocation APIs (e.g., MapQuest, Google Maps, OpenStreetMap) is a major plus.
  • Open source contributions are welcome!
