  • Experience designing for cross-platform Consumer products with a strong foundation in platform constraints and capabilities.
  • A track record of governing and contributing to design systems by defining standards, delivering impactful, scalable solutions, and driving adoption across teams and platforms.
  • Confident in your ability to break down and solve complex problems, balancing tactical execution with system-level thinking.
  • Recognized as a trusted partner and mentor, fostering growth and collaboration by empowering peers and cross-functional teams to adopt best practices and deliver scalable design solutions.
  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity while bringing clarity to challenges that span design, technology, and business needs.
  • An understanding of A/B testing and how to use data to inform and iterate on design decisions.
  • A passion for accessibility and inclusive design, with a commitment to ensuring all components meet industry standards.

  • Collaborative Partner: Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams like product, engineering, and marketing.
  • Growth Mindset: Passion for continuous learning and leading scalable, high-impact design teams.
  • Project Management: Taking initiative and aligning your team with the right process that will deliver solutions in fast-paced environments.
  • Talent Recruitment: Helping recruit and onboard top talent to build a strong, capable design team.

What You Can Expect

  • Leading the product design team for the 1Password Growth initiatives.
  • Connecting together projects and goals with a focus on end-to-end experiences to leverage business growth from deployment to expansion.
  • Partner with Product Management, Research, Data, Engineering, and Marketing counterparts to understand the domain, drive experiments, product strategy and ensure clear goals and priorities for the team.
  • Build, mentor, and develop solid product designers.
  • Plan design team performance, workload, and career development.
  • Collaborate with design leadership to connect the dots across teams and cultivate department-wide culture and standards.

Bonus Points For

  • Experience with well established B2B SaaS companies.

USA-based roles only: The annual base salary for this role is between $173,000 USD and $233,000 USD, plus immediate participation in 1Password's benefits program (health, dental, 401k and many others), utilization of our generous paid time off, an equity grant and, where applicable, participation in our incentive programs.

At 1Password, we approach each individual's compensation with a promise of fair market value and internal equity commensurate with experience and specific skill set.

We believe in the power of remote work, but we also recognize that in-person connection is sometimes important to help us achieve our mission. While we are a remote-first company, occasional travel for in-person engagement will be a part of this role. • You will define and influence your team’s roadmap with a deep understanding of the product space, acting as a thought leader with your XFN leads in defining the “how” of the product strategy.
  • You will proactively share your work with the broader design organization, developing and advocating for new ways of working, as well as creating workshops and spaces to learn new skill sets.
  • You will identify gaps or improvements for our design system and contribute UX and design patterns that address design debt, and are adopted across the design organization.
  • You will partner with the Slayer Design Director to influence your team’s culture of communication through respectfully open and honest feedback, and encouraging others to be heard and understood.

What You Should Have

  • 7+ years of experience designing consumer-facing products.
  • A passion for video games and gaming experiences.
  • Experience or passion for improving developer experiences
  • Confidence in your ability to execute, and coach others in making design decisions, leading discussions, and communicating out to the wider organization.
  • Compelling storytelling skills across multiple mediums with consistent experience pitching and influencing design decisions across all levels (ie. executives).
  • Strong, pro-active communication skills, forming ideas and presenting them to your cross-functional team to develop product strategy and roadmaps.
  • A desire to deeply understand the "why" before defining the "how" and use it to develop a strategic product perspective, and vision.
  • A high level of design craft, and a commitment to maintaining a high bar for design implementation as you see work through from design iterations to detailed documentation, and QA.
  • A portfolio of work on which you were the primary designer leading large-scale, high impact projects across devices, and experience in leading designers or teams at an initiative level.

This entails deployments and customer relationships on the scale of our largest customers - like Confluent, Databricks, OpenAI, and Anthropic. These are long-term, complex, deep, and technical engagements with a lot of moving pieces. Expect these to be challenging growth opportunities with extremely high impact.

While you’ll primarily be focused on managing existing enterprise customers post-sales, our philosophy is that every Solutions Architect should have at least some exposure to the full customer lifecycle and the full range of customers we work with. Thus you’ll also have the opportunity to work on closing new business and managing smaller post-sales customers. The exact blend of responsibilities will depend on your skillset, appetite, and goals.

Metronome is a startup. As such, there’s a lot still to figure out and tremendous room for high-agency people to influence our direction and strategy, build processes from zero to one, and generally make a difference. If this excites you as much as it excites us, let’s talk.

A few other bullet points:

🛠️ Educating our customers as an advisor to their monetization efforts. You'll become a world-class expert on software monetization and billing data management and consult with top product and engineering leaders on how to achieve major business goals.

🏁 Bringing accounts to technical close and beyond. You'll navigate complex multi-party sales and design joint integration architectures with our customers' Engineering teams. You'll help buyers understand how Metronome can accelerate their business while fitting into their technical stack with minimal effort. You’ll lead complex enterprise deployments and partner with the Growth team to maximize the value our customers get from Metronome.

🧭 Partner with our Growth, Engineering, and Product teams. As the primary conduit between GTM and Engineering, you'll gather and prioritize feedback from prospective customers. You'll be a major input into our product roadmap and collaborate with our Growth team to ensure smooth deployments.
