At Project Ronin, we are dedicated to enhancing the lives of all cancer patients and their healthcare providers. We're creating a clinical intelligence platform that offers real-time insights right at the point of care, by consolidating the most critical clinical data in one platform. Our team is united by our shared mission to support cancer patients, and we are proud to come from diverse walks of life, representing the patients we serve.
The pace of innovation in cancer treatment has accelerated dramatically in recent years, with new breakthroughs happening every day and over 600 cancer drugs now on the market. And yet, the technology doctors use to take advantage of these innovations hasn’t evolved in decades. In fact, most doctors still use a software system that was designed in the 1990s for billing and compliance to make life-altering decisions about care.
At Project Ronin, we’re out to change this fast. Our mission is to dramatically improve cancer care by giving doctors and patients the tools they need to make better decisions about treatment. We’re developing a cancer intelligence platform that provides all the information physicians need, in one place, to assess patient care options and take action. We believe that this technology will allow for truly individualized care and will have an immediate impact on quality of life and survival rates.
The Data Science team at Project Ronin is an interdisciplinary team of statisticians, machine learning scientists/engineers, and data scientists that is helping Project Ronin realize its goal of improving cancer care. - Conduct in-depth investigations of our raw and processed data to evaluate its accuracy, completeness, and reliability
- Work with product to build and maintain python-based reports to track customer usage
Build dashboards with Oracle Analytics and Autonomous DB to enable data exploration, monitoring of data quality, KPI reporting, and customer-facing clinical analyses.
- Support our company in making data-driven decisions through careful and statistically rigorous analyses of customer data.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with clinical informaticists, data engineers, product managers, and other data scientists.
- Distill complex analyses into concise visualizations and takeaways to communicate to key stakeholders internally and externally.
What we are looking for:
- A strong background in statistics and analytics, with 3+ years of industry experience as a data scientist (or analyst) or 3+ years academic research in a quantitative field.
- Prior experience with Oracle Analytics
- Strong programming experience in python and/or R (both preferred)
- Experience in querying databases with SQL
- Experience working with messy healthcare data to solve clinical problems
- Passionate about exploratory data analysis
- The ability to articulate your work clearly to a non-technical audience
- Bonus: Prior experience with Oracle Autonomous DB
The base salary for this role is $177,600 - 190,200k annually with an equity component. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors, including prior experience, expertise & may vary from the amount above.

- You build roadmaps in alignment with business priorities, develop appropriate team level milestones, and drive alignment, focus, and transparency across teams and leadership.
- You own and drive your team’s work, collaborating with partner teams involved in cross functional programs, making appropriate tradeoffs to optimize for multiple priorities, quality, and time to market.
- You know when to push back, challenge an idea, and seek out compromise, and do so positively and for the benefit of the company in the interest of getting value to customers quickly.
- You work closely with your teams to ensure that the right technical tradeoffs are being made, software practices and other processes are being followed, right priorities are being addressed, and progress is being made.
- You champion program management and Scrum methodology skills through the programs you own and the teams you support.
- You are data driven and seek to improve processes and interactions through metrics and retrospectives.
- You are an evangelist for your teams and programs across the org, building relationships and trust with partners.
