  • High emotional intelligence and the ability to collaborate across diverse stakeholders with different priorities.
  • Self-starter mindset with the ability to drive clarity and progress in a matrixed organization.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Experience in the automotive, retail, or marketplace space is a plus.

About the Role

--------------

As an Executive Business Partner to our CEO, you’ll be at the tempo keeper of Metronome’s leadership engine. You will bring order to the daily chaos—managing calendars with precision, building systems that keep us organized, and making sure the team is always set up to focus on what matters most. Your work will help keep our execs aligned, energized, and rowing in the same direction.

More than just logistics, this role is a key cultural connector. You'll play a big part in shaping how we work together and show up as a team. You'll report directly to the CEO and work closely with leaders across the company.

This position is based in the Bay Area and requires 2–3 days a week in our San Francisco office, plus occasional travel for onsite and offsite events (roughly once per quarter). We do not offer relocation for this role.

What You'll Do

--------------

  • Own and manage complex, ever-evolving calendars—prioritizing what’s most impactful and coordinating seamlessly with internal and external stakeholders
  • Attend meetings, taking notes, following up on action items, and helping to create decks
  • Coordinate detailed domestic and international travel
  • Plan and execute high-impact events—from team dinners to multi-day offsites—handling everything from logistics to vibe
  • Take charge of monthly expense reports and step in on special projects that keep things moving forward
  • Act as an extension of our CEO —representing Metronome with professionalism, warmth, and great judgment both internally and externally

Impact You'll Have

------------------

  • Help drive the rhythm of the business by supporting exec staff meetings, Quarterly Business Reviews, offsites, and other key operating cadences
  • With the visibility you will have across the business, you’ll spot gaps, risks, and opportunities before they surface
  • Our admin team is the glue that holds everything together, and as an EBP to the CEO, you’ll play a key role in how Metronome operates and scales

Qualifications

--------------

  • 4+ years of experience in a similar role—ideally supporting founders or C-suite at a fast-paced tech company
  • A proactive mindset and a track record of going the extra mile without being asked
  • Comfortable working with urgency, shifting priorities, and occasional after-hours communication to keep things moving
  • Exceptional organizational skills—you can juggle multiple priorities without dropping the ball
  • Calm, collaborative, and approachable under pressure (bonus points for a good sense of humor)
  • Strong judgment and a deep respect for confidentiality
  • Sharp eye for detail and high standards for accuracy
  • Clear, thoughtful communicator across all formats—written, verbal, async, live
  • Confident navigating Google Calendar, Gmail, and taking notes like a pro
  • Aligned with our values— you take ownership, stay gritty, and meet the moment with a can-do attitude

Bonus points

  • Project management experience
  • Event planning experience

Compensation

The estimated base salary range for this role is $128,000 - $161,000. In addition to your base salary, Metronome offers a competitive total rewards package, including but not limited to, market-benched equity, sales incentive pay (for eligible roles), comprehensive health benefits, and other benefits listed below.

The actual base salary will vary based on factors including market value, individual qualifications objectively assessed during the interview process, and previous experience. The listed range above should serve as a guideline and may be modified at any time.

We believe that compensation reflects the expected impact you will have at the company, relative to the market value of your role. We also conduct an annual pay audit to ensure pay is fair, indexed to market value, and that pay takes into account continued performance at Metronome. If you would like to learn more about our philosophy or about why we are all billing nerds, send us a message. We’d love to talk!

  • 5+ years of experience as a product designer working on SaaS applications or other complex web-based software.
  • A portfolio that demonstrates how your design decisions were informed by research or data insights and the impact they had on user experience and/or business outcomes.
  • Experience facilitating workshops, brainstorming and scope refinement sessions, etc. and working closely with product managers and engineers to align design solutions with business and user needs.
  • Proficiency in Figma and working with and contributing to an established design system.

If you think you meet more than 50% of our requirements but fewer than 100% of them, please apply. We're imperfect communicators, so think of our job postings as the starting point for discussion rather than proof that you shouldn't apply.
